Showtime half-price

Saw an ad (or should say heard) on Comedy Central for Showtime for half price. I didn't hear the full ad. Went on Dish chat to ask what the promo length is and was told they don't have that promotion. When I said that I just saw an ad for it I was told was it hasn't started yet. When I asked when does it start I was told they can send a notice to my account.

So does anybody know anything about this promotion? You would think if they have it advertised that the csr would at least know when it started...

I can't understand why members of satguys don't contact Dirt first.They have a great reputation of getting customers taken care of first try.With phone or chat its hit or miss and mostly miss.

Just did online chat and operator referred to it as the stair step offer. I already had HBO and Showtime and he gave me the offer for HBO, Showtime, Starz and Cinemax. Bill went up $1.50

I don't see this under "my offers" online, so I'll assume you just have to know to call. After this weekend's free preview, we can decide. I doubt we'd get it. We had it before and dropped it when our son moved out. At that time, they honored our "no locals" grandfathering, as the rule was that you'd lose that grandfathering if you made a change to your basic programming package. I hope that hasn't changed to "if you make any programming change."

Besides, we have more than we can watch now. And we might shift to Hopper in a few months, as it looks like SWMBO's interest in Fios is waning. I wonder if we'd lose that grandfathering if we moved to Hopper. Maybe I'll PM a DIRT member.

I also had a "no locals" package but I lost it when I added the multi-sport package. However they did give a credit so the first year of my locals were free. I would still to prefer not to have them/pay for them but I thought this was a fair compromise.

Because they don't always know, or have the power to make the changes.
Last year i emailed one of the dirt members about the free multi sports package trial. I was told I didn't qualify for it, yet i pay $180 a month and am not a new customer.
After talking to a member of Dish Executive team last week he actually told me that I was refused for the multi sports package due to a system error. I didn't even mention anything about it

I got 50% off for HBO/Showtime/Starz/Cinemax. I just asked on a chat for it and got it ! But few weeks ago 50% off Startz after 12 months free I was told NO.

I did almost the same thing. I already had HBO but I asked the online chat to give me the half off deal for HBO and Starz because I want to watch the second season of Spartacus on demand. Basically I added Starz to what I already have and my bill will go down $1.50 for 6 months.

I'm not worried about losing hopper upgrade discounts because I already upgraded.

My point being they are much more likely to help a customer out the first time than doing an online chat or making the dreaded phone call.Nothing is perfect but Dirt imho is the best option of the 3 choices.

I like the Jimmy Fallon channel. This will be its third year. I like that it's all fresh each year. Also fun when he pops on live from time to time.

Terrible tragedy. You would think that they would have safe guards in place that would prevent something like this from happening. I guess if you are going to ride in a passenger train it might be best to get a car near the rear.

It's probably been 2 decades since I've listened to an AM radio station. Very rarely listen to FM any more.

That goes for a lot of people. I've been advertising on radio for more than a decade now and am very familiar with this subject. While it is still a valuable tool, it has far less impact than it did just a few years ago. The best reaction I get is from a local Country music station....they play a mix of older and newer music and have a very big footprint.

No, just regular FM stations. One is the country station I mentioned and the other is a Talk Radio station which used to get fantastic results but honestly, since the death of Rush Limbaugh, talk radio just doesn't do as well. There were two guys who had an early morning show which was hugely popular here in the southeast but one of them retired a couple years ago and the show just doesn't garner the same numbers as it used to.

I can't recall having encountered a local ad on Sirius, and I don't imagine it is any different on XM.

Both, and they just made it official with a multiyear deal that also includes TV Everywhere authentication for the DAZN app, and commercial distribution.

DIRECTV, the premier provider of digital television entertainment in the United States, and DAZN, the world's leading sports entertainment platform, today announced a new multi-year distribution agreement for local telecasts of Cleveland Cavaliers, Indiana Pacers, Memphis Grizzlies, Minnesota Timberwolves, and San Antonio Spurs games for DIRECTV streaming, satellite, and U-verse customers in each team's respective NBA-designated home territories.

These DAZN telecasts will be available to DIRECTV customers who subscribe to the Choice or higher packages and to U-verse TV customers who subscribe to the U200 or higher package. Each of DAZN's team services provides live pregame, postgame, and in-game coverage for the respective team.

In the coming weeks, customers who receive access to these teams via DIRECTV will also be able to login to the DAZN platform at no additional cost using their DIRECTV login credentials.

This agreement also provides distribution rights to each of the five NBA teams to all of DIRECTV FOR BUSINESS' thousands of sports bars, restaurants, fitness clubs, and other commercial venues located within each team's respective region.

All DMA's now Western Arc

I know HipKat said that they were working on conversions but we got the official news yesterday right from Dish that starting next month all DMA's will be on the western arc, and all customers will be assigned to that. That's gonna mean a lot of customers around here aren't gonna get Dish unless there are exceptions. Too many mountains and trees.

Even if you are broadcasting old SD-only shows, I would think advertisers would still want their commercials to look good.

Advertisers on SD channels are probably Far and Few, very hard to find, they have very few viewers to watch them.

I watch mostly SD channels (H&I, Start and ION, etc.). There are plenty of advertisers, this time of the year it is mostly Medicare Advantage plans, auto extended warranties and the occasional walk-in-tub. They know who is watching.
