I've searched high and low but can't manage to find the frequency this receiver uses on the RG-6 cable. I need to know what GHz I need to use on this replacement receiver. 1GHZ? 2GHz? 3GHz? Is there a list somewhere to refer to? I can't even so much as find specs (detailed) on the 311k or the 322 for that matter... & a 311k manual?
P.S. Also, how do I find out *all* of the channel/transponders I have? All sites I've searched so far don't list the local channel packages (OTA programming) and for some reason quite a few others...
Reason I ask is I think I possibly have 3 problems. 1. Dish needs peaked. 2. Possibly wrong fittings (barrel couplers are 990MHz I believe) 3. Possibly bad cable- looong story...

And the 950-1450MHz is signal from the satellites that is converted to a lower frequency to be transmitted on the cable or is that the actual frequency transmitted on the cable into the house? I've been trying to research some on the subject and from what I'd read my thought was the LNB lowered the transmitted frequency so it could be transmitted (successfully) on lower frequency cable or something?
Sorry for all the questions guys; still a newbie and trying to figure out what I have and what I need to improve the signal. Signal is crappy on most transponders still yet (50-60 with a few at around 70). That's why I was thinking of focusing on just the transponders (channels) we watch.
On a related note, is there some way to find out what my signal quality *should* be in my area?

Our complete system details:
-311k (basically a 322 from what I've read?)
-Dish 500 dish (doesn't say DishPro on it- just says Dish I'm thinking; it's dark outside now so can't look) with a dual LNB (one oval? eye w/ two cables going in for 2 receivers)
-3GHz cable at the moment bought from a local satellite dealer (but has *multiple* waterproof underground RG-6 splice kits in it under ground w/ 950MHz? barrell couplers) and a barrell coupler (950MHz?) at the dish with weatherproof plugs and boots covering them (I disconnect there to align the dish with)
-Live at 47167 and use satellites 119 and 110 (have America's Top 120+ with local package)
So I have a DishPro receiver? So do I refer to our system as a DishPro system or does that not necessarily apply since our dish doesn't say DishPro?

that is actually good. Disregard the thought that 125 (which shows on the meter IIRC) is the max. Dish neutered the meter...oof....5 years ago so 50-60 on CONUS transponders is about right and 70's for spotbeams is right
yup. But you only need one input and there is only one output (Dish disabled the 2nd tuner in it)

Aha. I had forgotten that. One wonders why Dish wastes a former 322 on the modest needs of a 311 owner.
Did they run out of 311's?

2. I had a combination of problems...
You see, what started all of this was this (it *was* working perfectly):
I'm installing a handrail for my mother to use outside when the ramp is slick (especially in the winter) and was second-guessing myself about using enough concrete/sand/gravel mix for the posts, so 'genius-me' goes to the dish (on a pole set in concrete out at the edge of the property years back) and I'm thinking, "that's strange, this has worked fine for years and I did it about the same way" whilst wiggling and pushing on the post testing the sturdiness of my previous build years back. Around that time we suddenly started having SERIOUS signal problems- pixelating and video/audio dropouts. So I'm thinking either the Dish qpsk/8psk change has made things screwy or maybe I pushed a little too hard?
So I go out to the dish, start attempting to fine-tune it back in and don't get too far;still dropouts galore and I notice (AFTER my alignment attempt) a tree limb with vines on it possibly blocking the signal so I remove that.
I start researching (I remember seeing some build-up on the dish that I didn't remember seeing before- the best way to describe it is, you know what paint looks like after many years and how it starts flaking and chipping). I saw that on the dish but it didn't look like paint so I figure it's a result of tree sap over the years (it's located under trees-trees EVERYWHERE on our property) and bird crap both combined? So I read a guy used bleach to clean his so I try spraying bleach on it, let it soak, then used a plastic brush that comes with a bottle of Gojo Orange on it- comes off like magic! Yea! Signal quality went up 2 points and is more stable! One of both helped it!
But, now since we are still experiencing a *little* anomaly here and there still yet and I'm wondering if possibly the underground splice kits (w/ 950MHz barrel couplers?) I used are adding to the signal loss problem AND maybe it still needs to be fine-tuned (since I tried aligning with obstacles possibly blocking the path?) I came here and asked about all of this from you fine folks!
I'm thinking at this point since the signal loss? (anomaly) is pretty much only noticed on channel 41 (local channel from Louisville as I've been learned here recently) I figure I need to readjust the dish again (maybe use transponder 4 on sat 110 as a guide?) AND replace the entire cable.?
I've only had one experience in this and that was when I moved the dish off the side of the house and onto the custom pole I set for it years back. I can't quite figure out exactly how to align the dish to its maximum signal just yet (I used transponders 19 the previous time and got lucky?). From what I read I need to set the skew first and don't touch it again as it changes other settings when modified (which I didn't leave it earlier and tinkered with it after), then side-to-side for max signal gain, then finally up and down (can't remember the technical terms used). Is this the best procedure to receive channels on 119 and 110 using a Dish 500?
I had a spare receiver to use for alignment purposes at the dish but now it's not usable for 110 (I've already tried-my analog alignment meter shows a signal but the receiver was dead quiet showing no signal meaning they've killed the (QPSK I think I read?) signal for my outdated receiver and now must take the good 311k receiver out there temporarily, which this method sucks by the way as it's difficult to remove and reinstall in the current location in the entertainment system...)
Oh, and we're sticking to this setup for 2 reasons:
1. Money is tight here with a type-1 diabetic dog + a dog that has congestive heart failure + a dog that has incontinence problems along with back hips no longer wanting to work too well. All is managed ok with meds and special dog food but it's taxing on my paycheck (and then I still have to pay my bills/buy groceries!)
2. We have a family member who is kind enough to pay the Dish bill for us every month FREE! If we upgraded, the fee would cost more for her AND would lock into a new contract? To my understanding anyways...
Oh, and the underground splice kits details: were waterproof RG-6 plugs and a barrel coupler which I'm thinking was a 950MHz (but could be wrong?) that gets smashed into a big glob of dielectric grease I think? in a plastic snap case which then snaps together, supposedly waterproofing the assembly... I'm thinking it's safe from water (or our receiver would already be shorted out I'd think) but not for sure about the couplers- I have another spare somewhere to look at... LOL

I know they were sending out 311k's (ex 322's) during the conversion. My grandma got two of them to replace her 301's

Thanks to Fitch Ratings ( who gives the ratings on Credit and debt, as approved by the SEC, so they have accurate numbers) we have the totals.
DIRECTV's video subscriber base is the third-largest traditional multi-channel video programming distributor (MVPD) in the U.S. with about 8.2 million subscribers at the end of 1Q26.
The last time it was reported, it was 8.8M at the end of 2Q25, so only a 600,000 loss for 3 quarters, which is a major improvement, since for many years before that, it was losing 500,000 a quarter, 2 Million a year.
It is now losing less than Dish/Sling combined, I believe the Genre Packs are helping to retain and get subscribers.

Recently came back to DirectTV Satellite service and have two boxes, Gemini and a main HR54.
DirecTV is charging me two "TV access fees" of $10 each, but can only watch TV on the one without the server. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

I feel like this was discussed in another thread, but I can't find it. I have T-Mobile and my last iPhone upgrade was in 2020. I want to get a new iPhone, but what is the best way to go about doing it? Should I order the iPhone from T-Mobile directly, or should I buy from the Apple Store? I feel like there are pros/cons to each option.

I have a Hopper with Sling. (Don't know exact model.) A couple nights ago, I went into the DVR screen, and noted that it was recording three programs. Yet I was able to view live TV (that was not one of the channels being recorded.) Did something change? In the past, it would only let me watch one of the channels being recorded, or any recording in the DVR menu. Maybe it was streaming, although there was no indication of that?

Anyone have a DirecTV Local Channel Connector that you'd like to get rid of at a reasonable price? DirecTV is currently in a contract dispute with owner of my local ABC affiliate.

I did that. The response was that the LCC is not available. Escalated the issue to a tech support person with the same results.

If they are not out of them as them WHY you can't get one, seeing Your in a Dispute. Thats what they are for.

I had one, and it worked well, but I believe I gave it to another D* friend (also had a AM21), I know I gave them away ...
According to the tech support guy, they don't have any in stock. He said I should receive an email when and if they have them. I even told him I would accept a refurbished unit.

Did anyone have a price increase today on their equipment? I own my VIP211k's, and they have been $5.00. My bill that I received last week shows the "add-ons" as being $5.00. However, I just logged into my Dish account, and my "add-ons" are now $10.00. Did the additional receivers go up by $5.00 recently?
As I mentioned, my last bill shows $5.00 and under the notes, nothing is mentioned about a price increase.

Hello everyone, new guy here. I'm trying to solve problem I'm having with Dish bonus view channels. When I'm watching the bonus view channels then I switch back to regular dish channels, after few minutes the screen flips to black and after 30 seconds flips back to regular channels and continues to flip back and forth until I turn off TV. After I wait 30 minutes and turn back on , I can use regular channels again. So, its after I switch from bonus view channels to regular dish channels the problem starts. Been trying to fix this for a month, but no luck
Here what I've done.
i contacted Dish support and they sent me a new Joey3, but no help. Switched to a different HDMI input on TV, no help. Used different HDMI cable , no help. Used different electrical wall plug, no help.
Finally got a Dish tech to check it. He ran all systems check and was OK. Finally he brought in a small TV and plugged in the HDMI out from the Joey to the small TV. He could not get the problem to occur on his small TV, so the new Joey was working OK. So, then the problem must be myTV. He made some phone calls and came back with the answer that there must be a problem with the analog to digital switch in my TV. Has anyone ever heard of a problem like this, or is it time to be looking for a new TV? My tv LG OLED65C8PUA. TV has been trouble free til now. Thanks
