Is deactivating a receiver and sending it back to Dish considered breaking the 18 month agreement? I want to take a 625 off my account.

If you remove ANY leased equipment from your account that is part of a commitment contract before the contract expires it is treated as a downgrade of service/equipment and you will be viewed as a contract breach.

You don't touch leased equipment during commitment periods. Not unless you enjoy large amounts on your bill. The sole exception is receiver exchanges in which case a leased receiver comes off and another goes on. The computers see the exchange so you aren't charged.

If the 625 is your only receiver ,then yes, you would be breaking your contract.

Also check to see if the 625 is the primary receiver on your account, if not you may have a 50/50 shot.

Stated above is absolutely correct. This was explained and confirmed by Dish on a few occasions for other subs. If you want an exception, you will have to appeal to the Executive Offices, but I sincerely doubt that Dish will allow this exception seeing as they get that extra DVR fee during your commitment and being a "new" customer. They want their return on the investment they made in you and don't know what your intentions really are. It doesn't hurt to go ahead and ask for the downgrade. Let us know if they give you a break

As someone stated, if it is the only receiver then yes it would cancel your account. If it was a dishinitup receiver, then it would violate the diu 18 month commitment. Otherwise you should be fine.

Additionally, let's say you have a 625 and a 322. And you want to send back the 322, we would deactivate the 322 and send you a box. You would send it back without penalty. DirecTV is different. They charge for leased receiver deactivations prior to a certain time limit.

To summarize, if you deactivate a receiver on an account, that is a leased receiver, as long as it is not a dish n it up receiver or any receiver with a commitment, and as long as it is not the only receiver on the account, you can deactivate it without penalty, provided you mail it back within 15 days of deactivation by the prepaid shipping box sent to you.

I have never seen a penalty for deactivating a leased receiver as long as it fell within the above conditions. The only time I saw a penalty was when someone deactivated the receiver, then did not send it back. But I have done it many times before. Customers changed their mind on one receiver, would deactivate it and mail it back but keep their other receiver. If you disable a dvr it eliminates the dvr service fee and potentially a leased receiver fee. The other receivers can eliminate leased receiver fees.

I just received 6 receiver 2 port mini Multiswitch and it work great, no external power need it, and you can connect 6 receiver instead of 4 on most Mini Multiswitches... If anyone is interested in where they can get one PM me....

Have you tested using external power? Over the years, have found unpowered polarity switching to be unreliable. Especially problematic when used with DiSEqC motors or switch stacking.

I bought the fixed color version of these bulbs for my store several years ago...work great and no more replacing ballast. Finally had one go out and when I went back to Amazon I saw that now they come in selectable versions so no more guess work as to what color light would do best in a certain area. They are now double OR single ended...used to be strictly one way or the other. If any of you are looking at replacing the old style 4 or 8 ft bulbs, you might want to give these a try. The 8 footers are BRIGHT. I put 5 in my shooting/target shed and you can get a decent tan if you are in there long enough.

When we re-lamped my in-Laws' house for sale last year, we were able to get all the Edison bulbs and a few fixtures with switch-selectable Color Temperature. We tried a few and settled on 3000°K as the best fit for the house. Matching the lighting in all the rooms made for an inviting experience. The Shop was the only place that we went with 4000°K for the LED 4' fixtures.

The house was sold within a month of going on the market, so we must have done something right.

The other advantage is if the new owners decide that they prefer a warmer light, they can unscrew the bulbs (I think it was close to 70 bulbs) and set them to the 2500K/2700K settings.

I'll have to check these out. Thanks!

For some reason, the satelliteguys.us site is loading a lot slower than usual on both Chrome on my Asus laptop and Safari on my iPhone.
I'm also seeing longer appearances of the blue bar at the top and the "3 blue bars" loading symbol.
Is anyone else also having the same problem? Thanks in advance.

Just doing a big security update on the server, may slow down then again it may not. Just wanted to warn you guys. :D

Ok the update is complete. :)

Scott, I was having major issues getting connected around noon ET. Looks fine now. I captured a Safari session that was showing high CPU utilization in the Rendering of the page, like 90+%. I have a JSON file I created that I could share.

Been using the site at that time and saw no issues. A quick look at the logs shows nothing strange.

Yeah. It's probably something going on with the MacBook as my iPhone has been pretty snappy.

Love Tony in Charge as director. Liked how the Secretary of Navy told him that the press release about him being the new director of NCIS had went out an hour ago. See you on Monday! when she left. I hate the LaRoche guy and wanted him to get taken down. He reminded me of Pete Hegseth the way he looked and his haircut.

I originally thought that Tim had shot LaRoche .... awhile back when they had that dispute about who was going to Win, when they had him as Dirty ... was I thinking someone else ? (it was obviously, last year.)

Was Gibbs still there when you quit watching ?
If so, A Lot has happened ....

It's been pretty good all along , once you get use to Gibbs being gone.

You don't like Tony, or Tony as the Director (he's only been there for 30 seconds now) or you don't like NCIS ?

Apple has finally released their Apple TV 4K with built-in Siri and a microphone so it can respond to your queries even if you don't have the remote. It also increases in price, to $299. I had been planning on updating my current Apple TV 4K streamers, but that's $600 for the two of them, and that's a pass at this point.

At $299, it had better come with 256 GB of Storage, Gigabit (or better) Ethernet, the latest HDMI tech and standards, and one year of free Apple One. But it probably won't…

Meh. The 4Ks I have will do everything that these do that I need them to do.

Which that's most tech these days for anything released the last four to five years.

It's honestly a testament to how good the previous gen Apple TVs were and are.

Don't tell them that. They'll adopt planned obsolescence.

The only thing I can see that is compelling is the AV1 decoding done in the A19's hardware instead of the current ATV4K's processor.

Outside of gaming, would Joe Sixpack notice any difference?

On Tuesday, I recorded the first episodes of the new season's NCIS shows on CBS (Dish provided, not OTA). The new New York series and Origins will both do Auto Skip, but the original, now season 24 does not. What's stranger, when I do a search for NCIS, Origins and New York show the current recording and the next episode it will record, but the original show only shows the current recording and some other channel showing the very first episode of season one. It makes no sense. When I set up the timers, I was able to use search for Origins and New York, but for the original, I had to scroll ahead in the guide until last Tuesday when the show was airing. Then set the timer from there. You can see its timer type is DVR where the other two are Seek. What am I missing?
Thanks!

With both CBS and Fox autohop (as we know) is not enabled for a week..But after 24 hours if you mash the FF button until the red kangaroo shows up in the bottom right you wont overshoot the program. No need to try to figure how long the break is.

Yep. We do this all the time, but we use the 30-sec skip forward button until the red kangaroo shows up. Love this feature.
