Today Dish Network launches a new promo for existing customers, This new promo is called...

dishn.jpg

Basically the new promotion allows current subscribers to lease new Dish Network Equipment.

You can lease a new or reconditioned 301, 311, 510 or 811, however not everyone qualifies for this promotion or for certain equipment.

Here is some information on this new promotion and how the promotion works.

1) You must get the promotion from you original retailer.

2) You will need to provide the following information to the retailer...
  • Your Last Name
  • Your Dish Network Account Number
  • Valid Credit Card
It is recommended you give your retailer a copy of your bill, as if when your info is entered in the computer and 1 letter or number is wrong you will not qualify for the promotion.

Now when you give the dealer this information they will find out what you qualify for.

There are two plans available which you may qualify for. (Note some people will not qualify)

PLAN A
  • One Dish'N it up promotional program upgrade receiver transaction permitted in any 12 month period
  • Maximum of 2 receivers per transaction
  • No Activation Fee
  • No Equipment to Buy
  • No Commitment
  • Installation Payment of $50, or if the customer subscribes to the Dish home protection plan at $5.99 a month, the installation is $29.99
  • Minimum subscription to dish Latino or Americas Top 60 required at all times

PLAN B

One Dish'N it up promotional program upgrade receiver transaction permitted in any 12 month period
Maximum of 1 receiver per transaction
No Activation Fee
No Equipment to Buy
No Commitment
Installation Payment of $99, or if the customer subscribes to the Dish home protection plan at $5.99 a month, the installation is $29.99
Minimum subscription to dish Latino or Americas Top 60 required at all times

Additional Information
  • Maximum of four leased tuners on any one account (including any and all previously tuners which are currently active)
  • A $5 per month rental fee will be assessed for each receiver provided under this promotional program
  • Limit of 2 811 leased receivers
  • Program only available from original retailer who installed and activated your system (original dealer of record)
  • Customer pays installation fee to retailer
  • Customer must return leased equipment to Dish Network within 15 days of cancellation of service or be assessed an unreturned equipment charge ($100 = 301/311, $200 = 510/811)
  • Customers who return a Dish Network receiver owned by them for a receiver on this program will receive a $25 credit on their Dish Network bill. This credit will be applied once the receiver is received and processed by Dish Network. The receiver must be received within 45 days of deactivation to qualify for the credit.
  • Under PLAN A if the customer elects to receive two leased receivers, the two receivers must be added or swapped at the same time (One Truck Roll)
  • Customers who return a receiver previously leased to them in exchange for a receiver provided under this promotional program, must return the previously leased receiver back directly to Dish Network. No credits will be issued for an exchange of a previously leased receiver
  • Upon notification to Dish Network that a customer intends to exchange a receiver(s) and deactivation of such receiver(s), Dish Network will send the customer a pre paid box(es) in which to ship the receivers back to Dish Network.
  • Customer is responsible for returning their equipment to Dish Network. Retailers CANNOT and SHOULD NOT offer to return equipment for the customer.
  • Ownership of receivers, smart cards, and remote controls provided under this promotional program shall be determined by the Dish'N It Up promotional program agreement signed between Dish Network and the Customer. Ownership and return of any return requirements for LNBF's and switches are governed by the terms of the customer's origional promotional program or customer agreement with Dish Network.
  • Any existing agreements between the customer and Dish Network will remain in full force and effect
  • Echostar shall determine customer eligibility to participate in this promotional program in its sole discretion for any reason or no reason
If a customer gets a model 510 receiver a Dish Video on Demand fee of $4.95 a month will be charged for each receiver unless the customer subscribes to Dish Network Everything Package.

All customers activating a Dish 811 receiver must agree to subscribe to the $9.99 per month HD Pack. Installation costs range from FREE to $99 depending on the segmentation tier the customer qualifies for and whether the customer subscribes to DHPP.

Off air antennas

I just checked antennaweb and found that all of my locals are within 35 miles. Anybody have any suggestions on which of the MANY antennas to go with? It looks like I should dump my Dish locals and go with off air locals. Has anyone set up a system like this?

I saw on one of the other threads a post discussing the upgrade deals being offered by Dish and wondered how easy it will be to set up the whole thing - 811 HD reciever, off air antenna, off air HD locals,... What little extra gadgets will I need?

Thanks in advance.
ajohnson
Believe it or not you can get great results with Radio Shack 930-0998 Double Bow Tie antenna. It's cheap and it works pretty good. Call them and ask them to check stock in the computer, usually they can tell you a store near you that has one hiding in the back or something. My locals are just under 50 miles from me, and I put mine in the attic.
SimpleSimon
My gosh - that's exactly the same antenna they've been selling for like 30 years (except now it has "HDTV" in the title). If it'd known it was going to be a classic, I would've kept mine.

I called 2 weeks ago and was given 2 options on a leased 510 shipped to me. I could pay 99.00 and 5.00 a month lease, or I could pay 24.95 shipping and return a 2700 that I own for a 24.95 credit, and 5.00 a month lease. I chose option 2, so I am basically giving them a receiver so that they will lease me one, does this sound right? I ordered 2 weeks ago and was told by the CSR that it would "be on my door step in 7-10 days." I called Wednesday and it hasn't shipped yet and didn't know when it would ship. All they would tell me is that it was scheduled to ship October 28, but hadn't shipped yet.

will i lose the dhp plan ?

i had to sign a contract for the dhp NOT dha plan when i first signed up and i had a bad 301 and they sent me a replacment in like 2 days... will i ever lose this plan as long as i stay a customer? or will i start having to pay for replacements ? i do no pay any 5.99 or 1.99 fee it was included when i signed up like 18 months ago... will this change anytime soon or do i get to keep it ?

I like the Jimmy Fallon channel. This will be its third year. I like that it's all fresh each year. Also fun when he pops on live from time to time.

Terrible tragedy. You would think that they would have safe guards in place that would prevent something like this from happening. I guess if you are going to ride in a passenger train it might be best to get a car near the rear.

They will have to look at the switching sections to determine WHY 2 trains were on the same track ... at the same time.

Sometimes a thread gets so many posts in it that is can cause issues for the server so that why today we introduce The Song Name Game Part 3!

So let the game continue!

The last song was added by Bobby who posted...

One Meat Ball - Andrews Sisters

CONTINUE ON AND HAVE FUN! WELCOME HOME TO SATELLITEGUYS.US!

Here are the original rules for the game as posted by WebbyDude back in 2006. http://www.satelliteguys.us/threads/68645-Song-Name-Game

Just name a song title and the band who performed it. The next person does the same thing, but needs to list a song title or band name which includes a word from the previous entry. Pick songs from any genre.

Example:

Long Live Rock and Roll -- Rainbow

Rainbow in the Dark -- Dio

Another example:

Ride the Lightning -- Metallica

Lightning Strikes -- Ozzy Osbourne

Get it?

An additional note: we all know that song titles, sometimes, use profane words. Because this is a family friendly website it is advised that you clean up that title up a bit. This is accomplished by using something like sh!t instead of the real word. Thanks....

It's probably been 2 decades since I've listened to an AM radio station. Very rarely listen to FM any more.

That goes for a lot of people. I've been advertising on radio for more than a decade now and am very familiar with this subject. While it is still a valuable tool, it has far less impact than it did just a few years ago. The best reaction I get is from a local Country music station....they play a mix of older and newer music and have a very big footprint.

Do you do any Ad's on Satellite ?

If Not, why not, because it's not Local ?

No, just regular FM stations. One is the country station I mentioned and the other is a Talk Radio station which used to get fantastic results but honestly, since the death of Rush Limbaugh, talk radio just doesn't do as well. There were two guys who had an early morning show which was hugely popular here in the southeast but one of them retired a couple years ago and the show just doesn't garner the same numbers as it used to.

You knew the answer before you asked it.

I can't recall having encountered a local ad on Sirius, and I don't imagine it is any different on XM.

For those dazn nba channels are they sat only or sat & streaming
K
Both, and they just made it official with a multiyear deal that also includes TV Everywhere authentication for the DAZN app, and commercial distribution.

DIRECTV, the premier provider of digital television entertainment in the United States, and DAZN, the world's leading sports entertainment platform, today announced a new multi-year distribution agreement for local telecasts of Cleveland Cavaliers, Indiana Pacers, Memphis Grizzlies, Minnesota Timberwolves, and San Antonio Spurs games for DIRECTV streaming, satellite, and U-verse customers in each team's respective NBA-designated home territories.

These DAZN telecasts will be available to DIRECTV customers who subscribe to the Choice or higher packages and to U-verse TV customers who subscribe to the U200 or higher package. Each of DAZN's team services provides live pregame, postgame, and in-game coverage for the respective team.

In the coming weeks, customers who receive access to these teams via DIRECTV will also be able to login to the DAZN platform at no additional cost using their DIRECTV login credentials.

This agreement also provides distribution rights to each of the five NBA teams to all of DIRECTV FOR BUSINESS' thousands of sports bars, restaurants, fitness clubs, and other commercial venues located within each team's respective region.

I know HipKat said that they were working on conversions but we got the official news yesterday right from Dish that starting next month all DMA's will be on the western arc, and all customers will be assigned to that. That's gonna mean a lot of customers around here aren't gonna get Dish unless there are exceptions. Too many mountains and trees.

I watch mostly SD channels (H&I, Start and ION, etc.). There are plenty of advertisers, this time of the year it is mostly Medicare Advantage plans, auto extended warranties and the occasional walk-in-tub. They know who is watching.
