Hey guys ok so you may remember back a few months when I was supposed to get the SAMI from the house down the street. Well now that its winter and most of the vines are dead it was much easier to get down. But now that it is down as you can see from the pictures. There is 2 panels on mesh that are torn up in the corners from one of the hurricanes. How hard is it to replace/repair mesh?

Not hard at all. Doesn't look too bad to me, just add a couple screws where necessary to anchor it down flat, you shouldn't have any problem with signal.
(Mine has two large tears in the mesh and it picks up fine - I am planning to replace those panels tho')

It's finding the Mesh that's the hard part.
I have replaced and repaired several panels on my Unimesh.
The Mesh slides into a channel, I use a screwdriver to gently loosen the channel, and remove / replace.

I'd be more annoyed with that bent LNB support than the little mesh issue.
It'll work without the panel.
How well it'll work with the bent arm is another matter.
C-band may get by fine. Could be a challenge for Ku.
edit: oh, no Ku-band LNB... never mind! -

Dish looks generally good. -:up
Just recenter the scalar, and make it parallel to the dish.
You should be on C-band by the end of the week! -
Congratulations!

You might try these guys
McMaster-Carr
They have lots of weird stuff.

If they don't have exactly what you want call them, they might be able to find it for you.

Maybe you can find another similar dish and salvage parts of it?

Great, now that you say that i remember seeing the screws and how it was in there. Shouldnt be too hard to replace.

Ive got a lot of LNB questions so when i get some closer pics i will ask those then :)

Being a BUD newbie Im not sure what to look for on these things like you say with the bent LNB arm. Its been in my neighborhood for over 30 years, its older than me. Thats a lot of hurricanes here in Pensacola. Plus i think it has been out of service for most of those 30.

skyvision used to sell mesh panels, also sami antenna used to sell them too. it was on a roll and u had to cut it.

i would think any kind of aluminum screen mesh from the hardware store painted black would be good as long as the holes were small enough not to lose ku

I need new mesh on my Orbitron, and I looked at a few places that sold replacement mesh, and I was astounded at how expensive it was, something like $100 per panel. I also tried some generic hardware supply sites, and it wasn't much cheaper there. Stuff you'd find at a regular hardware store wouldn't be big enough. Anyway, you can find replacement panels, but it isn't cheap.

Actually i was directed by one of our members over to samidish.com and new panels are about 40 bucks, that doesnt sound too bad too me.

Guys I still have a few odd panels , pieces for some dishes I used to have, pm me if you can measure the size of your panels I might have one that would fit. And I wont ask forty bucks a piece lol.
