Again any list that doesn't list AT&T in the top 10 is bogus, worthless, and not credible!Apparently these surveys are a dime a dozen and they don't really do their homework.

I really feel that customer service goes both ways. I know there are some terrible CSR that hate their jobs and don't want to be there, and you can tell. For the most part I find the majority of CSRs to be friendly and willing to help. I think that most people who have bad experiences are brought on by themselves, usually due to them already being frustrated and needing to vent. A lot of people go into a phone call with a sense of entitlement too. I'm not sure how you can think the person on the other end of the line is going to respond when being treated the way most customers treat them.

I find that as long as I am patient and willing to work with them, they are very helpful and friendly. If they do have an attitude or don't seem to be willing to help me I just ask for another department or hang up the phone and try again. For instance, when I called Dish about the AMC deal and was curious about the Roku, she was more than willing to help and give me the offer. I never gave her any threat or even asked for it, she just asked if I wanted the offer. Great service if you ask me.

What about Frontier Communications? Aren't they loathed in the rural areas?
The guy who wrote it or took the survey must be an AMC fan. Most retailers are telling me they haven't received a single phone call about the AMC networks being removed. Its not as big of a deal as some are making it out to be. Most of the people here who are getting Rokus are just getting Rokus because they are free, not because they are upset about AMC being dropped.
I want Dish to drop a few more channels. I want to get another blu-ray player and a microwave!
Who is John Zogby? I am thinking its a one man operation look at the name of the company he works for... JZ Analytics.
Actually Zogby used to a be a big player, but then let politics get in the way of making predictions from his polls back in '04 (he admitted as much and I say that as a progressive).

When I had ATT - mobile until 6 months or so ago, U-verse a couple of 30 day periods over the last 2-3 years, and landline up until 3 years or so ago - I never had a problem with their CS.

For the few years I had Comcast at home from about 2005-2008 or 9, I had no problem with them, either. In fact, I was always pleasantly surprised at how helpful they were.

With Dish, it has always been a crap shoot. It still is, most likely due to poor training and communication within the business unit. You never know what a CSR is going to tell you. It changes from cal to call, and is often wrong. But, it has gotten better, in attitude if not actual knowledge. But, nobody beats DIRT. Those guys know what they are doing, and they do it quickly and correctly.

Maybe one of those companies on the list will go after him for being reckless. But I suspect he's too small a fry to bother with.

Agreed. When dealing with Chat or the Phone, you never know what you are going to get. Sometimes it all works seemlessly... others, you are on chat or the phone for two hours trying to get your HD channels back. I remember one time trying to explain to a Chat representative that there is no way in the world I would have turned off the HD channels, especially after paying the $100 to get them for... ummm... free. I almost fear changing programming.

I haven't dealt with DIRT yet, but it seems that there are few issues they can't resolve, and they seem to be extremely familiar with the inner workings of Dish, so they can get things done. Unlike the chat reps, DIRT seems to have the power to get things resolved... or at least to a point where you know it can't be resolved. Talk to Chat and you may get 3 different answers from 3 different reps.

Out of all csr I have delt with from various company's and service providers dish has been one of the best I've felt with. I have always had my issues fixed timly and they have treated me like a valued customer. I do agree cable csr has a lot to be desired.

If you don't know about DIRT, or if you are not on these forums and keep up with what's what, Dish customer service is better than alot. Now once you know more than the CSR, or have used a DIRT member, that all changes.

100000000000% correct. Horrid.

I'm with you. I recently upgraded with them for the simple fact that I can get a far better signal with them than the other providers in my area. I faced so many issues with the activation of my new phone and it became worse when it was apparent the online system wouldn't activate it. I called them three different times, sat through long holds just waiting to get someone and finally got the thing activated. Later that evening, I noticed my mobile hotspot wasn't working and went through the process again finally having that corrected. In comparison, my experiences with Dish have been rather pleasant though I rarely need anything I can't do through my online account. My experiences with DIRT: Absolutely wonderful.

I saw a different list published that didn't include Dish, but several airlines and cable companies, so to Scot's point, what methodology is being used for all these lists because we sure get different results?

I think that AMC as a channel was over rated . Not many customers watch it, but for about 3 or 4 programs. There are other ways to watch those shows and I think that Roku is just one of them. As for their movie selection, I could care less, because they show commercials. If I wanted to watch commercials during movies , I would stay with ota . That is why not many people are calling in complaining about the loss of AMC. Now come October when the Walking Dead comes back on , you might hear a few squawks from those who don't follow these web boards.
