I’m looking to upgrade my dish system and have a few questions ….

I would like to install a ViP722k receiver and 1000.2 dish with only one cable going from the dish to receiver. I have read multiple sources that state this is possible. However, it appears there are 3 cables coming out of the 1000.2 dish (one each for the 110, 119, & 129 satellites?). How do the 3 cables become one cable? I understand I will need a DISH Pro Plus Separator Input at the receiver to split the single cable into 2 cables in order to connect to both the satellite 1 input and the satellite 2 input.

I am in the Los Angeles area.

Thanks

All 3 of the outputs will include all 3 of the sats. You only need to use one of them, it doesn't matter which one even (just not the input ;)).

And yes, you need a separator (or triplexer) to get both sat feeds for the 722.

The 1000.2 western arc lnbf had 4 ports, 3 out and 1 in. It had a basic internal switch that combines the the date feeds do for most installations you can just run straight from the lnb to your receiver. If you are planning to feed a tv 2 then dunt forget the diplexer and triplexer.

Regarding the 1000.2 LNBF, what make it a western arc vs. eastern arc? If it receives 110, 119, & 129, does that make it a western arc LNBF?

Thanks

Yup. WA is 110/119/129, EA is 61.5/72.7/77. Also, the EA and WA LNBs look different :-

WA top, EA bottom.

Oh, and the 1000.2 EA LNB only picks up 61.5/72.7, and looks like this :-

There are 1000.4 LNBs and 1000.2 LNBs for both arcs. For the most part, they are not designed to be interchangeable i.e. 1000.4 EA doesn't go on 1000.2 assembly and 1000.2 WA doesn't go on 1000.4 assembly. The different LNBs have a similar overall appearance other than the 1000.2 EA LNB.
