You know what was stupid when Dish had Detroit locals and a few other cities on 118.7

So they dumped our locals there, then decided to put us on eastern Arc and then moved us to western arc.

We literally had our locals on 118.7, 61.5 and 129 because dish couldn’t make up their mind.

What was even more insane was the 118.7 Dish with a dp44 switch was $287 compared to $50 at the time for a standard Dish1000

What do you mean by "nearly everyone"? How many Americans currently lack the bandwidth to stream? And what will get that to them affordably within 5 years?
If Windstream is your ISP it will probably be somewhere around the year 2525. Trying to get any decent service from Windstream is about as effective as mating two boar hogs!!
