Really sad to see what's happened to Miami.

Up until 2004, they were a consistent threat more often than not.

Miss the days when, growing up in Buffalo, the Dolphins were a team you respected and feared.
those days are long gone my friend. we're just a big fat joke now........ and i fear it will stay that way while ross owns the fins.

Keep your chin up, my friend. As you know , the NFL is a very cyclical league (with the possible exception of the Steelers). The Pats sucked from the late 80's-early 90's and then again in the late 90's. Hell, I've been watching football since the mid 70's, and I still say the 1990 Patriots team was the worst team in the NFL in that time frame. And that INCLUDES a winless Lions team.

McFadden has yet to play a full season in his career, including missing games last year...

McFadden started 13 out of 16 games last year. For a position that takes that kind of beating every game and the fact that the Raiders have a suitable backup.... I will take 13 out of 16 starts as being healthy.

Raiders 2003 to 2009....hello anyone? This Raider team is finally coming out of a cave....LOL! Once the stench of Jeff Ireland and company is gone... The 'Fins will be back and kicking....

It's Official. Raiders acquire veteran QB Palmer from Bengals

The Oakland Raiders have agreed to terms on a deal with the Cincinnati Bengals that would send quarterback Carson Palmer to Oakland for a 2012 first-round draft pick and a conditional pick that could become an additional first-rounder in the future, Fox Sports insider and NFL Network contributor Jay Glazer reported Tuesday, via Twitter. The Raiders later confirmed the move, tweeting an image of Palmer in a Raider shirt and hat, but did not release terms of the deal.
Palmer has four years and $50 million left on his current contract and stands to earn $11.5 million in 2011.

Eagles have traded Ronnie Brown to the Lions for Jerome Harrison and a 7th round pick.

Yeah, Palmer's got a pretty big contract and cap number, I wouldn't be surprised if Campbell isn't brought back because of it. "Hey Campbell's agent, want to come compete for the starting job against our $16-18m starting QB? Oh, you want to be paid like a starter...?"

Dont be surprised if that gets reworked.

Typically reworked contracts don't mean less money for the player, just diminished cap room and some of the salary converted to bonus so that it's more cap friendly.

In this case it was both. Just read the worked it out where he gets $2.5 million this year...then triples next year

I didn't catch that episode, but I WAS in Kent State during the time both Cribbs and Harrison were playing for the Flashes and saw a few live games. At the time, I never would've thought either of them would have the impact that they still do today at the NFL level.

What was Cribbs like in person?

I think the Raiders trading for Palmer makes some sense:

1. Can they really go to battle with Kyle Boller and win?

2. You have to take a chance and not just stand pat: sometimes, you have to dump the attractive girl to go for the hot babe.

3. Those 1st round picks are not gonna guarantee you get a future superstar.

Of the teams in the Broncos Divison they do seem the have the toughest schedule left. With the Patriots, Lions and Bills on deck. Which one would almost assume are guranteed losses. Then you have Jets, Phins, and Bears, which one would think they could come out of that with a 2-1 record.

So then you get to Conference play, they get Kansas city twice which they have a good chance to win both, and both Oakland and San Diego one more time, which could really be toss ups. I think there best chance is against Oakland.

So they may get out of this mess with 8 wins.. Of course I think 5 wins maybe more realistic, and certainly considered a win for Tebow as its 3 more then wed expect from Orton.....

For division play expect .500 and the rest is a bonus, no matter how good/bad tra are. Too early to say how well the Broncos will be playing once teams are able to gameplan for Tebow so hard to say how they'll do against competitive teams.

I enjoyed the Dolphins when they were doing the Wildcat. While it may have been a necessity for them to do it at the time,it was fun to watch. Right now,the Dolphins are a ship without a rudder(or sails for that matter). If they haven't done so,they need to brush off the Wildcat & start using it again with Reggie Bush.
God,I sure miss the days of Bob Griese,Larry Csonka,Mercury Morris,& Paul Warfield(not to mention their defense),along with Don Shula, owner Joe Robbie,& finally Dan Marino.

its an honest question? What would their record have to be to win the division?

Sorry... I thought you were kidding. To me, to win the division, the winner will have 10 wins. In all honesty, Denver has a few injuries, some guys under performing and now they traded their best WR...the perfect recipe for a 4-12, 5-11 season.

The Broncos ain't winnin' no division or even sniffing it this year!! (I get enough of the blind faith Teboners around here, do I really have to endure it on this forum as well??? C'mon man!!! brought to you by Geico)

Sports talk radio today said the Raiders got robbed, they could've had Orton for 2 years worth of Starbucks if a muffin was thrown in.....

I was sort of pushing for that trade. His style of play and the fact that the Raiders didnt need a "gun slinger", just hand off to our bread and butter, McFadden, was what I was looking for.

Like I said, after this year and next year, then I will give my opinion. Because HueJax has drastically improved this team, I will sip from the kool-aid for now.
