2011-12 NFL Season

20 minutes?? He's done a lot already in his short time in the league. From ESPN Stats & Information:

If/when Ndamukong Suh is fined for Thursday's stomp on Evan Dietrich-Smith, it will be the fourth time the NFL has fined him in less than two seasons. The other three fines, totaling $42,500 were all for hits on quarterbacks, with two of them coming in the preseason.

Ndamukong Suh was called for his 3rd personal foul penalty of the season and his 7th since coming into the league last year. That's tied with his teammate Cliff Avril for the most in the NFL since 2010.

And if you LOOK at them you'll see that at least 2 of them should not have been fines or even penalties.
He got fined for pushing Cutler down while Cutler was trying to make yards for gosh sakes.
This league is becoming a league of Crybabies, you get fined for had hits as well as PERFECT hits, they have NO IDEA anymore what a penalty should be anymore.
Most of the time the official throws a FLAG INCASE the guy gets hurt.

These comments are not about Suh directly, more about the players in general.
They may as well put flags on them, or play 2 hand touch.

You have NO IDEA what was said or done in the Locker room afterwards ...Also, it wouldn't surprise me to see Suh come out and apologize and state that he feels different now that he's seen it on film .... then again, maybe not.He definitely needs to grow up
You're right I have no idea what was said. But his explanation after a shower and a chance to clean up indicates he received no direction on what to say or how to act. Either that and he ignored it totally. If that is the case it would say many things if I was a teammate.

Your not REALLY gonna compare Suh whose been here for 20 minutes to Haynesworth who has a long and distinguished career of doing these type of things ... are you .... Really ?

Where am I comparing him to Albert, Jim? Where? I said HE as in suh already has a history of behavior that's out of bounce whether you want to accept that fact or not. You wanna defend suh that is your choice but please don't take it personal. Suh needs to get suspended at least two games because he doesn't get it. And his excuses are insulting to those who have at least some intelligence. again, nothing personal against you jim...

Maybe the best thing that Goodell could do to Suh is to hit him with a combination Haynesworth/Rothlesberger suspension. Hit him with a season ending suspension(to carry into the playoffs),but......just like with Rothlesberger, offer to cut the suspension down to X amount of games if he seeks "anger management" & exhibits an improvement in behavior & attitude.

i respect your opinion roy but i still think two games would be enough. if it happens again then half a season would be appropriate imo. honestly i hope the guy gets it from whatever punishment is coming to him. i do find his denial to be disturbing. i think he may actually believe he did nothing wrong. of course video evidence suggests quite the opposite. just put the violence where it belongs within the rules. no one is asking suh to become a softy or a wimp. at least i'm not. :)

If Stafford was on the receiving end of any of those I'm sure you'd feel differently....

As long as it's a Legal hit, I have no problem with Stafford or any other QB getting hit.

One of the Lions got a Late hit on the QB and the hit was a split second after the ball was out of his hand, that was ridiculous.

i agree with you here. there was a call yesterday against the lions roughing the passer which i found ridiculous. if its a legal hit then let it be. i saw no helmet to helmet there and it wasn't even a second after he threw the ball. i can understand a helmet to helmet hit or a hit 3 seconds later after rodgers threw the ball. if you count to 3 then yes its a long time after throwing it. anything else is just over protection towards the QB's.

Rogers is becoming Brady in the officials eyes...

That's the "scared straight" proposal that I made. Threaten with a season ending suspension & then tell him to prove why the suspension should be reduced to 2 games. He just needs to stop kicking players when their down(pun intended). In hind sight, the Lions did taunt the Falcons QB when they played against them,& they did taunt Tim Tebow with the "Tebowing" after the sack of him. Threatening to suspend the Lions' best defensive player for the rest of the season(but not actually going through with it) should put the "fear of God" into them & have them cut down on their "extra-curricular" activities beyond the tackle or sack. Don't stop playing hard, just stop the BS that happens after the play.

Ok, I'm not gonna go into this is GREAT detail, But part of your posts here need addressing.

Let me say, I do not agree in any way with what Suh did yesterday.

Ok, now that THAT is out of the way.

You want to suspend Suh for the sins of the team it looks like (for the season) .

Your post :He just needs to stop kicking players when their down(pun intended).

Your making it sound as if he has been kicking players regularly, this is the FIRST TIME, not a regular accurance.

Your post : Lions did taunt the Falcons QB when they played against them...

SUH was BLAMED for this one too, when he was 10 yards away from the player. THATS NOT TAUNTING.

TRASH TALK happens all the time.
Taunting is when your in the guys face. At least according to the NFL.

Tebow and Tebowing .... WAH, BIG deal. I see nothing wrong with it, again, it was not in his face or near him to show him up, it's not taunting.

Your post : Don't stop playing hard, just stop the BS that happens after the play.

All the teams play to the edge of the whistle or beyond, the Lions are the ones being targeted.

Atlanta did it, SF did it, the Packers did it as well.

It was pathetic to see the Packers get all the call because they are playing well and are the NFL's darlings.

Sorry rey, had too.

jim you do realize that the packers got a ton of penalties yesterday as well, correct? they got one of their players thrown out too.i'll agree not as important a player as Suh. only penalty i can see they were way off was the roughing the passer against rodgers. no way that was a penalty. besides that i think the game was called pretty evenly on both sides, don't you think? that crew has the tendency to referee a pretty tight penalty filled game for sure. and thats not coming from me.

Penalties 7-11

For the love of God Jimbo, STOP!!!!

You are a GREAT guy and a very passionate fan, but you have this terrible habit that you think your teams- whether it's tOSU, Red Wings, Steelers or Lions- are always getting screwed. There is NO excuse OR reasoning Suh's actions, he has been a Grade A punk all season!

So, you FAILED to read my post stating that I don't condone what Suh did. Post 4691

And when was the last time I said ANYTHING about the Red Wings ?

That's not bad at all.honestly if I see the lions being picked on I will be the first one to call it out.but so far I don't see it.honestly.I will be paying even closer attention from here on out.

I didn't FAIL to read anything. While you have stated you didn't condone Suh's actions, you also stated that we don't know what the Packers player said or did. Call me stupid, but to me that's just trying to rationalize Suh's actions (and there isn't ANY).

As far as the Red Wings go, every Playoffs thread you complain about the officiating (if you don't believe me look it up).

Again, you are an outstanding fan, but bad calls go against BOTH teams all the time.

Well until suh gets his punishment I'm done on this subject. At the end it's just a game and I refuse to get my emotions involved in any of this.I don't want to anger or offend anyone so I will continue the discussion another time :)

Suh has done himself a huge disservice. He goes to NYC to talk to the commissioner, then after the supposed goodwill and basically having Fidel Goodell fawn all over him, he pulls this. This to me is not a reflection of the team and more of the man. His actions were not only stupid, but selfish ...knowing how important he is to his teams success. It is one thing to be called on a personal foul...its another to be thrown out of the game.

He is no close to being a true leader of a team than he was when he was 10 years old playing Pee Wee football.

We will see what kind of true influence he had on Goodell with the type of fine/suspension he gets next week.

Rogers is becoming Brady in the officials eyes...

Interesting you mentioned Rodgers and Brady getting the calls. One of them has had a pretty good success rate against the Lions, and the other one has had a pretty good success rate against the Steelers.

Hmmmmm.........
