You've looked at more than just their records right? What have you seen from Tebiw that makes you want him over Newton? Im not sure there's anything does better than Newton other than maybe pray and sell Jerseys.

No offseason and rookie QB lights up the NFL. He's proven everyone wrong.

Too early to be making the Bust for Canton for him.....

He's only played 8 games, lets see what he does once there is some film on him.

I don't think anyone is saying that Jim.what cam is proving like Ben did is that if you're good ,you'll be good right off the bat as a rookie.I've never been a big believer in a qb needing 2 or 3 years to be able to play in the NFL.cam is just the most recent example.the same could be said about the rookie in cincy

There is a NEW "tub-of-goo" in Oakland and his name is Breshnahan! He is WORSE than Rob Ryan!

Knowing full well that Tebow and the Broncos were gonna run the ball, you have NO LB "spying" Tebow??!! I would think that is basic defense from Pop Warner to pros when you play a running QB.

Maybe its me. I mean his 1st start in his career was last year against the Raiders and they won easy and most of his yards were junk yards...and guess what, the Raiders had a LB spying him the entire game.

PS. Since Pam Oliver and her attractiveness was the topic of discussion, I don't think she's attractive. To me, she looks like a cross between John Elway and The Joker.

She kind of reminds me of Anita Hill, whom I did not find very attractive. Speaking of...who placed the pubic hair on my Arizona Green Tea? :(

Yeah, I can see that but can you name 10 that were ready to go 'right out of the box' in the last 10 years?

Cam, Flacco, Daulton, Ben, Fitzgerald, Eli, Peyton, Stafford...have I left out any?

And I mean good, not so-so...

I don't see where anyone suggested that... I'm all for disagreeing but you're trying to hard. Your point is spot on... but about Tebow.

Newton is 6th in the NFL in passing, averaging 299 a game, completing 60% of his passes.

Tebow's on his second year in the league (which counts for something even if he hasn't started, and the offensive scheme has changed) and is averaging less than 50% completions, and 90 yards passing per game. He's so good Elway says the starting QB position is 'week to week' even after this big win in the Raiders' house.

Tebow holds the ball so long that he's 2 away from the number of Sacks that Cam Newton has had in 8 games.

I mean, if you were trying to pick between Ricky Williams, Ronnie Brown, and Tim Tebow (maybe throw Vick into the mix and it would be an interesting age vs investment debate) as a wildcat QB I could understand picking him, but how do you pick Newton over Tebow? All signs point to Newton being a quick learner and only getting better as the team around him is put together by his new coach.

I just don't see on paper how you pick one over the other, unless you think as this new offense Denver's put together will continue his 6:1 TD to INT ratio and Tebow will be able to run for 100 yards per game, which they won't as teams study and pick it apart.

I don't see how if Brady went down, you'd be more comfortable with Tebow stepping in over Cam Newton. At this point in his career I think all Tebow has proven is that he can pray in public better than him.

probably not but then again not every draft produces a successful qb.by the way,I don't know about flacco. Something about him doesn't convince me he'll ever be a great qb. Maybe decent at best.he's too inconsistent. Before yesterday he was having a pretty crappy season. Amazing what winning one game and being a good part of why they won last night changes things lmao.question, did Palmer wait too long to start for cincy? I don't remember.

Lost amidst all the Tebow fawning from yesterday was the beastliness of Salsa's old buddy from the U, Willis McGahee.

Wasn't lost around here. Best rushing performance since 2000 for the Broncos. And Eddie Royal, Champ Bailey, and Elvis Dumervil. The Tebow fawning is best left for the Teboners to do.

Willis is currently ninth in the league in rushing.
Royal getting a TD for the first time since like 09 I think, and his 2nd punt return for a TD
Bailey getting two INTs after what seems like a drought
Dumervil getting 1.5 sacks.

Yup, team victory for sure.

Have to wonder where DHB fits into things for the Raiders after only playing 12 snaps via PFT. Supposed to be their #1 WR and he was essentially the 5th on Sunday, Jackson insists that he wasn't benched, just that his 'offensive packages' were not used much in the game. Kevin Boss also a non-factor, only used on special teams.

I agree, I just think Cam is getting the "I am Great" from the media when he has had a nice beginning to a career, nothing more, he's not Brady or Manning or Brees or Big Ben or any other of the TOP 5-10 QBs, you can't put a rookie in that category only playing 8 games.

I never said I would take one over the other.

Right now, if you were to ask me, Ya, I'd take Cam over Tim.
Cam looks more polished at this point and Cam has played in a few more games that Tim has, I believe.

I found that interesting too, before last night the media was talking about how well Big Ben was playing this year, and he is, but today all I hear about is how Flacco has come of age and turned the corner and they are saying he's better than Ben, amazing seeing Ben played well, don't win every game even if you play well. Suddenly after one game, Bens dropped out of the top 10 or something,....
Personally, I think the Ravens have focused EVERYTHING on the Steelers games and may not play as well thruout the rest of the year, of course they will win thier share of games, but they really are focused on the Steelers.
How else do you explain thier 2 losses to inferior teams, 2-6 Jacksonville and 4-4 Tennessee.

But how does Flacco compare to previous Ravens' QB's?
