Good Luck San Jose !

Hopefully they can bring the same intensity to the next round.
This has been an issue for both SJ and Detroit the next round after the long grueling series they seem to play every year.

Wow!!!!

Two fantastic teams giving us what hockey is all about. Heck, they gave us what sports is all about. The emotion, the intensity, the skill, the passion. Just incredible.

The crowd was crazy the entire game...I think they got LOUDER when the Wings made it 3-2! Good for the Wings, they should be proud. What an amazing bunch of warriors.

I mentioned to my fiance during the third period that if either of these two teams were playing at that intensity and skill level against the Rangers, the game would have been 5-0, and Lundqvist would have had to make a number of amazing saves to keep it that close.

Good for Joe Thornton, good for Patrick Marleau, good for Antti Niemi...AGAIN!

Game seven in hockey is unlike any other sport. If the game would have gone to OT...oh my goodness, can't even fathom what THAT would have been like.

Wings fans, you should be proud of your team. Sharks fans, good luck...Vancouver/San Jose should be another classic. Going from the frying pan into the fire!

So, two West Coast teams in the Western Finals. Does this mean late start times (10pm est)? Ugh!!!

No...it's just ridiculous that the fans in Vancouver and San Jose have to put up with 6PM start times DURING THE WEEK, when so many of them will not be able to make it home in time for the opening faceoff, so people in New Jersey, Detroit, Cleveland, etc., don't have to stay up an extra hour.

It's insane, and it's wrong.

Two very good series on top. Personally, it's hard for me to even pick a favorite now that the Wings have been eliminated:

Vancouver - they've been the best team this season, and they are Canada's hope for another Stanley Cup.
San Jose - they sure have suffered in the post season, can't help but feel sorry for them. (not-so-much after last night)
Boston - an Original Six team, they are due.
Tampa Bay - GM Stevie Yzerman is buiding a very Red Wing like team.

From a ratings standpoint, the NBC/Versus Execs are hoping for a Vancouver vs. Boston Stanley Cup Final.

Oh, yeah, I forgot about Tampa and Boston! Seems like they haven't played since bin Laden was alive...

I think NBC/Versus is hoping for San Jose and Boston. Vancouver televisions don't count in their ratings.

Congrats to Sabresrule for his intelligent and insightful prediction that only he made!

Wasnt the Boston-SJ game in fall of 2009 Hockey's highest ratings game at the time since 1976? Boston-SJ would be great ratings fodder for a final.

I believe that the games on left coast are starting at 4:30 local, 7:30 eastern. Thats so wrong...

Too bad Detroit added the empth netter in game 6, it would have been a 1 goal win for all 7 games, never to be exceeded, amazing series.

Oh, and Thorton did show up for most of series, and when chips were down, Jumbo and Patty made the difference!
Until Patty scored I was a few seconds to ripping his sticker off my bike!

Thanks for brightening my day with the bin Laden reminder. :)

True, but all of Canada would following the Canucks so the TSN folks would be mighty pleased.

Since when do every one in the west work till 6 pm ?

Most jobs people work an 8 hour day, thus getting off work 4:30/ 5 oclock, why do you think it's so bad.
I would LOVE to get off work and have the game start an hour later.

Boston is probably NBC's best option for decent SCF ratings.

Out West, they only seem to show Chicago/Detroit- and they are both out. In the East, no Washington, Pittsburgh, NY Rangers, or Philadelphia.

Jimbo my friend,
I thought that you have been to LA,Bay Area, Seattle etc. Transportation is a nightmare! When I get off at 6pm it's virtuously impossible for me to get home, shower, and make it to Nationwide Arena for a 7pm Faceoff! ?You know Columbus traffic isn't bad when compared to the left coast. Sorry I forgot to call you last week when I got Claude's tickets for game three of the series at the Joe, although I did get hit with a flying beer in overtime!
