301/311 vs. 211K

I have Dish 500. My 301, which I bought in 1989 has developed a connection problem where the antenna connects (loses connection--antenna strength goes to 0). I replaced it with a new 311 that I keep in my RV. I'd like to buy a receiver to replace the 301 permanently and will probably go to HD sometime in the next year. If I buy a 211K, will it replace the 301 in the Dish 500 system without any problems? In other words, is it a plug and play swap? If it does, I can use the 211K with the HD system when I have it installed.

Yea, for the price difference the 211 is the better buy right now.
