Vip722K Remote IR/UHF Switch Issue

I apologize in advance if this has already been covered. I've been searching the forums for this issue and can't find anything. I'm trying to follow the instructions for switching remote 2 to IR but I'm having difficulty. It says to switch the remote to IR, select the System Info button on the front panel, and select the record button. When I do that it just switches the remote 1 address from 1 to 15 instead of switching remote 2 to IR. Am I skipping a step here?

You are switching the "remote" to IR but TV2 is UHF ONLY. You would need to get the IR to UHF converter to use IR on TV2.

So the IR switch is to use remote 2 on TV1? That's not what i wanted to hear. I have two IR universal remotes that I want to use and I was hoping to use remote 2 too program them.

what model number remote do you have?

21.0 is switched inside the battery cover, 6.4 is switched with correct key tab
