Since i upgraded to the joey 4.. My 4k joey is taking up closet space. I was wondering since it's an owned box if dish would give me a credit for it if we sent it back to them 🤔 as i like the joey 4 alot better the PQ pops... I could post it on e-bay but who's buying🤔

You must be kidding. Dish is not going to give you a dime for it. I seriously doubt they would want you to return it if they owned it.

Doubt it, they are telling people who have one and upgrade to the Joey 4's to just toss them and not return them when they are upgraded.

Honestly the Joey 4 was a mistake to name it that... and the 4K Joey was so bad, if it were my call the new boxes would have been called The Joey 5. As its such a big leap forward.

I wish i had known the 4k joey didn't support HDR!!! The 4K joey sounds like a disaster. I don't know who would make a 4K box that doesn't support HDR 🤔

The 4K Joey was honestly obsolete shortly after they released it. They had a lot of plans for it, but then they changed the technology they were using to make the Hopper 3 and abandoned the 4K Joey. (Not to mention when the 4K Joey came out there was no HDR or DOlby Vision... just straight 4K) :D

The ole lady told me to put it in a spare room for the guests for the holidays i agreed. After finding a steal on a 32 inch tcl 1080P set for one of the spare bedrooms.. It's still an ok 1080P box!!! Though it will get upgraded later on... We called dish and there coming out tomorrow and run more coax..

As long as your Hopper 3 is connected to your home LAN, you can connect the 4K Joey's Ethernet port to your LAN instead of using the coax. I played with this when I first switched to the Kangaroo boxes, but ended up with the RG6 Quad that I had run previously.

Also, I can play the old 4K Winter Olympics and other Channel 540-xx events on my 4K Joey, but they are in 1080i HDR, not 4K HDR. So saying the 4K Joey can't do HDR is not technically correct.

Ok let me try and get this right here!!! If i connect the 4k joey to my home network it will do 1080I HDR but not full fledge 4k HDR 🤔 ... My hopper is connected to my home network... I know there's been alot of debate on this topic!!!
