Just in time to miss the start of network news. No real loss but there's no reason for the timing.
 
To my knowledge first time in over six weeks. Screen went black, unresponsive to remote then reboot.
 
The receiver may have hiccuped and did an automatic reboot. It happens occasionally. Not often but it happens....
 
Just did it again...7:35 AM. Same scenario. Black screen, no response to remote then reboot.

Make sure the sides are clear so it has plenty of ventilation and is not over heating.

Mine did this 3 months ago, not saying it's gonna be my issue but eventually it stopped working. Bad power supply, lost all my recordings.

I hope you just didn't know the ventilation was on the sides not top or bottom.
 
If I get a replacement before this receiver goes out is there a way to transfer recordings to the replacement?

And the wife just informed me it did it twice later last night. I adjusted its position to ensure it is getting plenty of air circulation. It doesn't feel hot at all.

Get a EHD and copy them now.
