Is it possible TVJapan was actually changed to "Not shown in non sub guides" I have always had both the Hawaiian spot beam and the conus beam in my guide. You can watch free English language News during the day. I now find none of them, including the new HD are showing in my guide. Did a check switch, no change.
Since both have the (H) they do now appear to be hidden. That sucks for those of us who watched TVJapan News.

Why not? There must be many who only get that satellite for internationals. First two HD channels on 118 today. (movie and TVJapan)

I didn't know that you could get that satellite alone - I always thought 118 was an additional satellite you got. I thought everyone in the US had some combination of the 6 satellites from WA/EA, then the 118 was just extra.

Why would they choose to put a PPV movie on 118? And a single PPV movie at that?

I just checked the title of the HD PPV movie off 118.... It's an Indian film from 2011 ("The Dirty Picture") , starring Indian actors, and "inspired by the life of the late south Indian actress Silk Smitha" .... It's not one of the regular PPV titles they carry in the normal PPV lineup.... So subscribers to the Hindu/Indian package I guess will now get recent Indian films in HD via PPV...

I agree. When do the largest markets need to have the non-big 4 networks in HD? My market #15 still doesn't have CW or the Ind station.

unless dish has changed something, the 118 can not be used alone as it doesn't provide any software update info.

Makes sense, I do know a Polish family in New Britain Ct that only has 118. What I don't know is how that came to be.....

they would hook up both 119 & 118 via a DP21 if they have the older LNB

Uplink help! Can any one verify? I had a friend tell me she was watching a local from the North Platte DMA, she lives in the Denver DMA. Have there been DMA changes in the last 24 hours? I hope so, I have been fighting since November to get 13 additional counties in Nebraska the ability to see Nebraska channels instead of Denver. Please help me validate this rumor! Thanks!
