Here is what is showing on the screen of those channels currently.

Whats funny is the channel number its telling me to tune to is the channel number I am tuned to already.

People always wonder why we talk more about DISH here then DIRECTV... and here is the reason, its stupid stuff like this that has us talking about DISH while people with DIRECTV are watching TV... (And people tell me I am biased)

Being optimistic, perhaps this will lead to Dish getting ESPNU in HD after the dispute is settled.

I presume this is related to the ESPNU lawsuit?

For those unaware, there is currently a lawsuit between Dish and Disney, reguarding the fee paid for ESPNU. Essentially, Dish argues that it has a contract provision specifing "best nation pricing" (i.e. if DirecTV or Comcast or someone else signs a better deal, Dish gets the better deal, too). Someone else got a better deal, so Dish started paying less, and that lead Disney to sue. It is also the main reason we have yet to see ESPNU HD.

Of course, I guess there could be another issue.

What also sucks is (if I'm not mistaken) those are 4 HD channels that are not mirrored in SD for those with Absolute/Turbo (er America)

I think it is technical difficulties. There are no press releases, news stories, etc. If Disney was going to cut off service to Dish for contract issues they would have cut the SD versions too. There would also be press releases on both sides blaming the other for contract issues.

Disgruntled Customer: Helllo Tim -- What happened to DisneyXD, DisneyEast HD, and ABCFamily HD? I still have the SD versions, I even did a reset, and a check switch, is this going to be fixed soon?? I can't stand the quality of the SD channels on my HDTV. Will Dish be issuing a credit for the hours this channel is missing. Will they reimburse me for the pain of the kids saying "It don't look good Dad" can you fix it? How long will I need to play DVR's that I have on the HD? Thanks for letting me vent. Please enlighten me as to what is going on. I can't be the only one that is having this problem right?
(24DrDep) Tim B.BXR: I’m very sorry to hear that you are having an issue. I’d be happy to resolve that for you. Disney and ESPN Networks, the owner of Disney Channel, Disney XD, ABC Family and ESPNews is preventing DISH Network from providing these channels in high-definition.
(24DrDep) Tim B.BXR: DISH Network is working hard to reach an agreement with Disney and ESPN Networks that will allow for the continued carriage of these channels in HD.

I just called DISH & he said they will be back when contracts have been finalized between the providers. Basically another dispute.

This is why I subscribe to both services. When crap like this happens I don't have to worry about my favorite channels going dark without notice. Get it together E*!
