722VIP Glitch?

On the 722VIP, every top of the hour for about a second, the picture pixelates. Not sure why, but I have pushed the info button when this happens and it always reads the top of the hour exactly. Any thoughts? Thnx. :

I have been noticing this as well for a while. It is very brief on our 222ks.

I see no such pixelation on my 722 (non k) nor my 612. Are you tuned to a satellite channel, or OTA channel?

It's on all receviers and all channels. just not ALL the time. appears to be connected with the time that the EPG changes. I also notice it on the bottom of the hour if the show i'm watching is a 1/2 hour one. or other times if the show has a weird end time. like, if it ends at 9:05, then that is when the glitch will happen.

Is it the k or non-k? I haven't noticed it at all on my non-k 722.

That's a possibility. Haven't noticed anything on EA.

Watched a USA recording and saw it. But it was less than a second....a freeze frame, then about 1/2 or less second pix-elation. Won't ruin my life. And I don't care why.

I'm on the EA. On my receiver it says VIP722k. KAB is right, just maybe a half second but I am noticing it on live tv. Haven't checked recordings. Probably there, too if it is happening on live tv as well. No OTA hooked up.

Is it repeatable? ie, if you see it, and rewind back to a point before the glitch, does it happen again at the same spot?

Have you-all watched the guide at the half-hour change?
It will often jump horizontally an hour or more ahead even when looking ahead.
Some times it will jump vertically to the channel in the preview window.
These jumps make it hard to keep track of where you are when scanning for prospects.

it is on the recorded version also. that's how i finally figured out the connection to the EPG. now off to make a report about it.

Does it matter what type of channel i.e. broadcast vs sat only?

With a 722 on EA, I may have seen this once, haven't noticed it since I started paying attention to this thread.

As of Aug 2, I don't seem to notice it anymore. Maybe a small glitch, not sure but none the less, fixed for now.

When I transitioned from my 722Ks to the Hoppers I immediately noticed that it glitches at the top (and sometimes bottom) of each hour. It's very brief but annoying. I've been patiently waiting for them to fix it. I do still have a 722K on a separate account, it has L752, haven't noticed any top/bottom of hour glitches yet, but I suspect that L752 is what introduced the glitch for others. Definitely not a step in the right direction...
