Hi, sorry if the matter was discussed before. I know Echo1 is for Mexico and Echo8 has some locals and a bit of spanish channels but what's the purpose of Echo8? I have a 1000.4 on the EA and it doesn't have enough power to come in....is that why they let go of programming on that sat?

1, 6, and 8 are at 77w. This provides backup transponders to cover failures. They may switch satellites for a given transponder and the customer may or may not see a difference in signal strength.
