Can someone confirm for me that the total count today, clear and encrypted, is 243 TV and 142 radio? The TV count is down a few from what it used to be; I know Globecast changes things frequently, but my dish mount has been shifting too and I want to make sure I'm getting all transponders.

that sounds about right. I scanned a couple days ago and remember around that amount of TV channels...around 240

Wow, I wonder what the missing one is. I doubt there's just one radio station on a transponder by itself, unless it's beamed towards your area and not mine.

its possible the channel is MPEG4 and some receivers show it as a radio channel while some just disregard the channel

Since FTV is MPEG4 that is probably the one....

Curiouser and curiouser. 22-23 TPs sounds about right, but I'm not sure where your extra TV channels are coming from. When my mount starts slipping I get either the Russian mux from 99 or the CCTV mux from 95 plus all the TPs on 97, and one time when it was really screwed up I got both 95 and 93 (but only half of 97 then!)

This spring I've got to finally get the motorized dish on a permanent pole! The question is where to put it. When I moved in the fall I had to do quite a bit of moving around to get an site that could see from 61 to 111 or 113. I really don't care if I'd get that far west, although 125 would be nice (I put up a fixed dish for it) and Hispasat would be nice in the east (I also put up a fixed dish for that.) I have a spot in mind that would work, but it would be a lot more cable than I feel like burying...

Jim S,

I waded through each of the 225 FTA TV channels. I found 21 of them without video and audio, although they showed strong signal quality and did not present a scrambled message. These were mostly globecast channels. My TPs all match what is listed on Lyngsat and SatBeams. The three TPs that I have no signal quality for are not listed either place. I don't know where they came from, but I am certain I did not manually add them. They blind scanned in at one time and they do not appear to have come from 95W or 99W.

I did find one duplicate channel. Pastor Scott logged in twice, so that takes my total FTA TV list down to 224.

Something humorous I found... on PEN TV... A Laurel and Hardy show in Farsi! LOL

Today I scanned and got 240 video 145 audio channels

so its weird that we're all off by a couple. I match the OP's total amount....just that 3 are in different spots

The Solomend that I'm using does everything except 4:2:2, which it still reports as video.

There's something weird going on with two Laotian channels, both named the same thing, on 97w. They're not scrambled, because people on Sadoun's board have said they can see them on other receivers, but on the Solomend they play audio but not video. The video compression and size fields in the on-screen display are blank. Supposedly they're MPEG4, but the receiver has no problem with any other MPEG4 channel I've come across, including ones that are widescreen or PAL or both, so I don't know what's going on. Maybe it's some unofficial size like 480x480 or 320x240, who knows. Somebody with TSReader needs to look into this.

Last year I kept finding Armenian Idol (no joke). They even used the same music as the American version.

I desired to "redo" my entire satellite list on my AZBox Premium Plus. Since I am already doing this work, I thought I would monitor the TPs and channels found on 97.0°W Galaxy 19 from a total scratch position.

Here are the results I found (scanning Ku-Band FTA channels only).

TPs found via BLIND SCAN:
TOTAL = 25 transponders logged in
LYNGSAT = 22 transponders listed for Ku band
LEGITIMATE = 20 transponders matching Lyngsat's list
MISSING = 2 listed on Lyngsat were not found (one being Digicipher and one being a feed TP - see list below)
EXTRA = 5 TPs not listed on Lyngsat (see list below)

MISSING TPs:

11894 H 4880
11952 V 6111

EXTRA TPs detected:

11706 V 7161 (DVB-S/QPSK - 3 encrypted channels)

11911 H 10524 (DVB-S/QPSK - no channels logged)
