This morning I noticed some interference that was causing my receiver to loose lock on the WPR radio feed. I assumed the problem was with my equipment. I had installed a new Bullseye feed yesterday. But after moving the dish east and west, and up and down (I have an elevation actuator on my dish) the interference definitely peaked at 99w vertical. It seems to be gone now.

Are you able to lock the Nexstar feeds on 11767 V 8500? They are weak at our location this morning (not unusual).

It might be internal birdy coming from somewhere in your satellites system.

Something is causing unwanted localized RFI.🙄

When you see the squiggly lines showing up on your SDR's waterfall, that's what's it's looks like. :hatsoff2

Can you lock 12177 V 1500 at 99w with the SF8008?

I can lock it with the GTmedia V9, but it says no program found. Demod GUI can't lock it and the Edision+ 4K doesn't even see the signal.

I'm curious what the parameters of this signal are that only the V9 can lock it. But the V9 doesn't give any details on the parameters.

That is what I assumed at first. But I ran the dish slowly up and down in elevation. The interference faded at the same rate as the desired signals and both peaked when the dish was pointed at the Clarke belt. I did this multiple times. It also went away when I switched to horizontal.

On the Edision Mio+, it's 10.2 dB this morning. On the V9 Prime, it's SQ 75%. On the V7S5X, it's SQ 72%.
Added: Ch-1 is showing the NBC Paralympics feed this morning. Ch-2 is showing some drama. Other two channels are colour bars as usual.

OK, I messed up. The 12177 V 1500 signal is on 101w, not 99w.
The V9 sees a strong signal, as does Demod GUI. But the Edision sees zero. Any ideas?

I'm getting 83% Signal Intensity and 73% Signal Qulity on the V9 using the 76cm Winegard. As you mentioned, nothing scans in. I don't get any signal on the Octagon or the GTX Combo. Probably a data feed.

On Edision Mio4k+: nothing. On V7S5X: nothing. On V9 Prime: two tps are saved in the tp list with Intensity 84%, Quality 77%. So this is an MIS (multiple input stream) tp?

Interference but not there now. My first guess would be a solar outage. Check again the same time tomorrow to verify.

Today would be the last day of the solar outage issue in NM according to the calculator. Today, the outage occurred at 11:48 am to 11:55 am local time for 101W.

I saw the interference around 8 to 9 am, far outside of the solar outage window.

Sun outages are caused by the broadband thermal noise the sun is always emitting across the radio spectrum and beyond. When the sun moves into the beam of our dishes, this thermal noise can be stronger than the satellite signal and drown it out. It is random noise so it doesn't have any noticeable pattern on the waterfall display. The desired signal just gets weaker as it is covered up by the noise.

The signal I saw had a bandwidth of about 100 kHz. I repaired radio transmitters for many years and it looks just like a PLL circuit that has gone out of lock and the VCO is just wandering around. For a period of about 2 hours it always peaked at the same position as Galaxy 16. The signal fell of rapidly as I moved the dish away from 99w. It was also vertical. Nothing in the horizontal. I checked all of this very carefully because by first thought was that my new LNBF had an amplifier that was oscillating.
