I have a sv1000 and my Lat. is 27.5 N and 99.4W, so my south satellite is 99W(G16). I set up elevation to 27 and set dish bracket to 25 as noted on sg2100 (dxm-7000/42) manual. I am able to lockon to 97W but can't get 99W. I tried using the motor and then usals, but still no 99W. I even had trouble locking on to it manually before motor. Any help would be appreciated. I have a 36" Fortec dish and kul-1 lnb.

Use 97W for your alignment. The motor needs to point to the south but you can use any satellite that is close by, motor to 97W it using USALS. Once you have motored to it, align the dish by rotating the motor/dish assembly on the mast (pole) and the elevation on the dish (not the motor). There is a good manual published by SatelliteAV here:

It is for a Mercury II receiver, but the concept of how you align a motor/dish is in the manual.
Cheers, Bob

Thanks, I will do that. Once I do that, do I go to satellite set-up get another satellite and the motor should move it to that satellite.
