After having my new XS Max vibrate off the table and falling to the floor ( unharmed ) Twice, I decided to order a sticky bumper and back. This is great and the phone vibrates but doesn't move now.

Amazon product ASIN B07GB121PF

Excited about having wireless charging but also the ability to charge while in a belt pocket but my current 6+ pockets is not quite thick enough so I found these items really convenient for a long day out hiking away from power.

I won't be using the above belt pack for daily use as it is a bit bulky but this one is better suited for every day"

For home wireless charging I bought this and it works great:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0753Z4PGC/?tag=satell01-20
This wireless stand took 3 hours to charge from 10% to 100%.

The XS comes with lightning Ear buds but I don't really need those since I have Airpods. But I do need to connect my stereo speakers to th XS Max when on the treadmill. Here are some low cost adapters that work great:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GQPTJS5/?tag=satell01-20

My USB C charger is from iClever and uses a MFi Certified cable.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076K7VYRT/?tag=satell01-20
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CMN7DCX/?tag=satell01-20

This system has charged the XS Max from 10% to 70% in 30 minutes. Then it switches to low power and takes another 90 minutes to reach 100%.

Many of those links are unsupported in the app, so I’ll have to dust off FF or Chrome.

I’ve read lately that it looks like Apple will never release the wireless charger. Overheating.

Further testing of these adapters show they are not compatible with iphone XS Max. They work for about 2 minutes and then a popup appears on screen "This accessory is not supported by this iphone"

Received the Apple version of the adapter for analog audio. Tested on the XS Max and it worked perfectly. Here are the two. The genuine Apple product is smaller and maybe less durable than the larger knockoff.

I did dissect the knockoff adapter and it does contain chips. But containing chips doesn't mean it works. The price of the knockoff was $7.99 for 2. The Apple was $9 for one.

I’m trying to figure out why you would buy those adapters since you have AirPods.
I use my iphone for more than one purpose. I use Airpods when out and about, but at my desk I plug it into my audio mixer to my speakers. The other place is the speakers on my treadmill. Therefore I have Airpods, and two adapters.

Don, if you have a fixed location you use your iPhone XS Max, get the Apple Lightning Dock which allows you to charge your iPhone and connect a 3.5 mm stereo audio cable.

I use one of these at work when I'm in over the weekend and want to jam. Over the years I've upgraded to Bluetooth on my new powered speakers, but the previous system was all analog and this made it easy to use.

Recently I discovered a hidden use for this adapter. My daughter was looking for a camera to shoot interviews for her job and asked me if I could help her pick out a video camcorder that can record, edit, and upload to Facebook without all the stuff I use for TV production. I told her she should just use her iphone XS Max that she just got as it has an excellent camera but I would need to research the audio as the iphone microphone is not very good for audio recording. Supports simple editing and offers direct upload to social media. In addition, there is a new iphone camera accessory that enables very high quality 360 VR shooting that just plugs into the Lightning port and has a very easy to use editor with special effects that can be used to shoot her real estate properties in 360VR the latest thing RealEstate sales people are doing.

So I found out you can use this little adapter to connect a lav microphone to the iphone and record video with external high quality microphone. But there is a trick to making it work. Apple uses a TRRS connection to isolate the analog audio for headphones and the microphone. Most little lav mics not designed for broadcast use a TRS connection but you can get a little adapter TRS female to male TRRS and connect everything up, then launch your camera app set to video and now you can have high quality audio with your video.

This is primarily for voice recording because it only supports mono audio mics.

I wish they had the headphones or a special device work as an antenna to help improve cell reception just like other phones that had their headphones work as an antenna in the past.

Note, I have discovered that not all microphones will work when connected to the iphone or an android phone. It depends on the impedance of the microphone and if not high enough it won't switch the circuit to audio input and the internal iphone mic will remain dominate. I tested a Movo lavelier and it did not work unless I ran it through a preamp line out to the adapter cable to the Apple lightning adapter. If you have a mic with TRRS plug already then it will likely work without the need for an adapter or preamp.
