Belichick just came out and said he did not want to coach the Jets, he did not say he was in failing health or needed to spend time with his family. Plus the Jets got compensation for him.

If Urban would of just said I don't want to coach here anymore because I can't take recruiting against Saban, Miles, Fisher Spurrier and Chizik and he is quitting he wouldn't be viewed as a liar. A douche, yes, but not a liar.

What difference does it make? Urban never said he was going to coach the Florida friggin' Gaytors for the rest of his life. The job was a stepping stone. He's Ohio, born and raised. He was mentored by Earle Bruce and had a picture of Woody Hayes hanging in his Florida office. I'm sorry your feelings are hurt and your dreams crushed, but this is not like the Nick Saban situation at all. Completely different. Perhaps it's time to accept reality and get over it. You sound like a jaded ex-husband who just got dumped by your super hot dream woman.

Um no he hasn't. That is a completely inaccurate comparison. Find me the statement where Urban Meyer said he is NOT leaving Florida.

Find me a statement saying he's staying in Ohio.:)

touche'

Because of his past "medical issues", there's certainly a chance he won't fulfill his 6 year contract at Ohio State. But I'd say that would be pretty slim. If he's healthy, I say he lives out his end of the bargain. Like I said, Ohio State is this Ohio guy's dream job. For that reason, I can't see him leaving for "greener pastures", as Columbus is about as green as they come for Urban.

I can agree with that. I see him staying there until he doesnt want to coach anymore, or they run him out.

I was just pointing out statements the Urban Myth has made in the past. If you can't come to grips with the fact that you're new coach is a lying a$$hole, than nothing I say here will change that. I get it, you want a winner. You're from loserville. Every time the browns, cavs or Indians take the playing field it is a certain loss. So now you have to cling to the one thing thay might produce a winner and defend it with all your might. Good luck waiting until next September for the next meaningful sporting event in loserville.

low blow.

I will say this though. It takes STONES to support the locals. It'd be way too easy to be a front runner like you.

Good grief. He left florida, took a year off, now he is at OSU. Get over it.
No need to be pissed at the members here because of any slight you might feel.

Um no he hasn't. That is a completely inaccurate comparison. Find me the statement where Urban Meyer said he is NOT leaving Florida.

"I made this clear to Jeremy Foley (Florida Athletic Director), if I am able to go coach, I want to coach at one place, the University of Florida. It would be a travesty, it would be ridiculous to all of a sudden come back and get the feeling back, get the health back, feel good again and then all of a sudden go throw some other colors on my shirt and go coach? I don't want to do that. I have too much love for this University and these players and for what we've built." —Urban Meyer, after resigning at UF the first time.

Not pissed at anyone, just posting facts. And I don't know why they care if their coach is a liar or not? He is going to run rough shot over that conference. Like I said earlier in this thread, which was ignored, it's going to be like shooting fish in a barrel when he goes against Hoke, Bilema, Dantonio and others.

Well thats the end of that. lol

I am sure at the time, he meant it.
Things and situations change.
Lord knows ive made some "absolutist" comments in my life that I have had to go back on. I am sure each and every person here has.
Doesnt necessarily mean you were intentionally telling a lie at the time.

But when it comes to college coaches...whether promising a kid playing time or promising alumni/fanbase you are staying.... it more often than not tell...ah...not telling the truth...
