Activation

I seem to be having getting my receiver to work.i activated my receiver went to step one entered English then satellite type multi switch comes up after saying to contact Directv.Any suggestions not sure what I am doing wrong.What is multi switch and slim line maybe that is the problem.This is a new receiver hr23-700 that I just activated

No I am not a new customer forgot to say it is a new receiver just activated it still not sure what the problem is the receiver is a Directv plus hd dvr

I think knowing what dish you have including type of LNB would be helpful.
BTW, no need to reply to your own thread, just use the edit selection.

If you have another receiver the system info may tell you what type of dish / switch you have if you aren't sure about the dish itself.

Menu/ Settings/Info and Test/More System Info
Scroll down to Dish Type.
