What's the difference between a QARL-3636 and an HARL-3636?

QARL is heavy duty, the tube is larger in diameter. 3636 means 36 volts and 36 inch. If your thinking of using one on your 12 foot dish you may want to look into a ball screw instead of the acme nut.

I positively agree with tvropro. Acme's are fine but I would go with a Ball screw over Acme. Make sure to grease them with a little lithium & get the boot cover. You can silicon the boot & zip tie it in place to keep as much moisture out as possible.

Any recommendations?

Thompson Saginaw that's the Cadillac of ball screws. Not cheap though.

I guess I'll have to spend the extra bucks, anyway, since I've just been informed by a vendor that the manufacturer will no longer build the QARL-3636. Looks like I'll have to spend twice as much at Skyvision for the "cadillac".

I just ordered a "ultra power" 24" actuator from skyvision today. Hopefully I'll be able to complete this new antenna project next weekend (not this weekend, of course). I wish I could afford the Saginaw.
