I have a legacy 3 dish setup running to an active 622 HDDVR and inactive (just to test signal strengh/troubleshoot) model 6000. It seems that my SW64 is dead since neither receiver sees the switch and the tech checked all the wiring and found nothing else wrong.

Should I just buy a new SW64 or replace it with a DP34, and 3 new DishPro single LNBF's? The price is comparable.

I would go with the DishPro gear, but be aware of the fact that your 6000 won't be able to control a DP34 without a DishPro adapter.

I just read about the DPP33 switch. Is this a better choice for my situation?

Yes. The DPP33 accepts DishPro LNBs and can feed your 622 with a single cable. I think it can also feed legacy receivers, assuming at least one DP receiver is hooked up for the current requirement. But double-check on that before you buy.
