AFN

No, not for this antenna, about three years ago they switched to a low powered uhf analog system for local reception of AFN TV channels. It was like a 10 channel UHF system. Prior to that they were using Satellite receivers (powervu) to get AFN to troops, but it was much more efficient when they went to the UHF system that allowed anyone with an antenna and a tv to get it as long as you were in range. I was one of the lucky ones who didn't leave my AFN satellite receiver in Iraq (I payed 400 bucks for it) I brought it home with me and it works on the AFN transponders on Cband (gal 28) Great for UFC! :) Yes you have to be in the military or a guest of the military IE: subcontractor, In order to activate AFN programming on any of the powervu boxes AAFES sells. Im trying to figure out how to get one of those new High def boxes AFN is coming out with.

the receiver (D9234) otherwise works as a basic FTA receiver. Kinda a pain to program but it does work if you can program it right

I have one programmed for NASA :)
