Agassi on crystal meth

Not a surprise. He was not dedicated to tennis until later. He was a big time party animal. Gil Reyes sat him down and asked if he wanted to give up or start playing. The rest is history.

Reyes saved Agassi's life when he asked him that question.

Agassi has always been my favorite tennis player so this is surprising to hear. However, he is a great role model and has been for some time. His admission appears to be very honest which is much more than you can say about most pro athletes that have used drugs. Hopefully the media doesn't blow this out of proportion and try to rewrite the history of Agassi's career.

It seems whenever an athlete releases a book, they ALWAYS have a piece of revealing information to drop. Sadly this admission is just ploy to sell more books.

WHY is it assumed that he is revealing information only to sell books?!

And would someone PLEASE tell Martina Navritalova to STFU!

Comparing this to Roger Clemens is beyond moronic and just shows she is desperate to be back in the limelight again.

A book about his life. I'm pretty sure these years are still considered 'after his career'.

What a stupid reason to condemn someone 'omg he's trying to make a living, what a bastard', it's not like he's lying or something...

It's like an old football great talking about how some certain genius play was an accident or the Pat's punter writing in a book in 2030 that the intentional safety was an accident and the ball was just greasy cause the center ate chicken on the sideline and snapped it wrong.

'OMG WHY DIDN'T THEY TELL US BACK THEN!?'

Edit: a nice blog about the book and it's disclosures - http://jay-mariotti.fanhouse.com/2009/11/10/for-andre-agassi-truth-is-everything/

Because Agassi could've come clean about this information in the years during or after his career, but instead conveniently waited until his book release. Coincidence? I think not.

JUST because he is mentioning it now, STILL does not mean it didn't happen and still does not mean he went through hell addicted to crystal meth.....

Huh? I am not denying what he's admitting. I believe him. I'm just saying it's rather convenient of him to come clean now after all these years just to sell a book.

And what IF he did it AFTER the book? what is the difference....?? no sooner that the news would break out, it was gonna start selling books either way.

It's a book about his life, it seems most appropriate, rather than convenient. He's basically coming clean and thanks in large part to baseball everyone is assuming the worst.
