"We are delighted that customers can now enjoy SiriusXM's exclusive shows, live sports, music, and news through Alexa," said Steve Rabuchin, VP Amazon Alexa. "Music, news, and sports are already some of the most popular categories of content on Alexa, and SiriusXM brings even more choices to customers. People with an Alexa device and a SiriusXM trial or paid subscription can simply enable the SiriusXM skill for Amazon Alexa, link their accounts and start listening at home or on-the-go with Alexa."

"Alexa is a leading voice service today by far and for good reason: The ease of use through the convenience of voice control with Alexa. We are thrilled to now deliver to Alexa our critically acclaimed, compelling and exclusive programming that spans all music genres, live sports, talk, live news, and comedy," said Jim Cady, SiriusXM's Executive Vice President of Products, Operations & Connected Vehicle. "Our millions of subscribers can get SiriusXM's great programming outside of the car and wherever Alexa devices can be found. It's as simple as asking Alexa to play SiriusXM."

SiriusXM content available on Amazon Alexa will mirror what is available to that subscriber streaming on the SiriusXM app, based on their subscription. Access to certain content, including MLB and NASCAR programming, requires an authenticated "SiriusXM All Access" subscription. For more info on what channels are available on various SiriusXM subscriptions, go to www.SiriusXM.com/subscriptions. Customers can sample SiriusXM by setting up their streaming log in or signing up for a trial at www.SiriusXM.com/amazonalexa

Works very well. It appears any channel you can get with your subscription can be streamed via Alexa. I'm using Alexa to stream it through my speaker system and it sounds very good a huge plus for working around the house especially when I want to listen to some SiriusXm only content. With everything Alexa can stream we have been watching less TV during daytime hours.

I was getting excited until this remark:
SiriusXM content available on Amazon Alexa will mirror what is available to that subscriber streaming on the SiriusXM app, based on their subscription.

I take that to mean that, if I only subscribe to SiriusXM via satellite radio, I won't get squat via my Dot. :(

My subscription includes online streaming. If you can't stream it via the app or computer you can't stream on alexa or any of the other devices available.

Ok so you have to stream to a computer and how does this go to your sound system, headphone out?

That isn't what I meant - but see how you though it was... :)
What I was saying is that you need to have a subscription where you can stream. Not all subscriptions include it, OR you can have a streaming only subscription. If you can stream then you can stream directly from an Echo or other Alexa device, on a computer, from your smartphone etc etc. As a test what I meant was if you can not stream via a computer then you probably don't have the streaming service and won't be able to stream to Alexa either. Some people in forums keep thinking when these things are enabled you don't need a subscription to SiriusXM or their streaming service and somehow magically get it for free. The only service I am aware of where that is true isn't streaming it's from DISH.

Got an email a few weeks ago from SiriusXM saying ask Alexa to play the Christmas stations so I tried it out and she played Holly no problem. The last few days she has been telling me that she can't find Holly on SiriusXM. I tried telling her to play channel 70 but that didn't work either. Country Christmas plays no problem, but can't get Holly. Anyone else get Holly to play with Alexa??

Yes, but I have to word it a certain way or she can’t do it. I think I ask her to play the Holly CHANNEL on siriusxm.

The format of Holly isn't much to my liking, but I've always enjoyed Country Christmas. With the Echo, I'm not sure if it's just me or what, but I say 'Hey Alexa, play Country Christmas on SiriusXM' it does not work. I have to say 'Hey Alexa, play A Country Christmas on SiriusXM' and it works. Funny thing is the station is officially called just Country Christmas, no A. Go figure.
