Alternate Video Players for Dish

I'm going to be buying a portable video player soon. I have narrowed my choices to the Zune and Archos 504. Does anyone know if I'll be able to use these with the Dish receivers? If so, what are the pros/cons.

pro: if they have video/audio inputs they will record just like a vcr or dvd recorder.
con: if they have video/audio inputs they will record just like a vcr or dvd recorder. (no usb transfer like the PocketDish units have).
