That's a great story.

I witnessed something similar several years ago. In a HS football game I was officiating, one of the teams had a team manager (and backup kicker) who had Downs Syndrome. His coach arranged with the opposing coach to allow him to kickoff after a TD. The kick was straight and down the middle, and the boy got a standing ovation that I'm sure he and his family won't ever forget...

We had a Downs kid at my site last week that was put into a blow out soccer game. The opposing team let him kid a goal and he was carried off the field.
