Was the A3 connected to the Internet since it was put back into service? Appears to be a failed Android OS update. You should be able to follow the recovery instructions to restore original OS and apps.
Thanks Brian for the information, the receiver was not connected to the internet when I t was first power up, I installed the Restore Rom and is up and running, but is missing many functions and apps, Is missing the Amiko Software Downloader , so I can not upload the latest software, when I got to F-DROID there is no apps available, try to update it but nothing happens, is there a file that I can install using the SD.
Please let me know.

Maybe another member can post-up an image of their back-up. I had heard rumor that installing a back-up from another STB could cause problems, but I never had any problem swapping between two bench units.
Hello Guys
I got some files from a member here, they are zip files, downloaded to a memory stick, put into the A3, I go to the UPDATER and I can see the files under C , click on the file, confirm the file and it gives me an error" SOFTWARE PACKAGE ERROR" I just wondering if this is the procedure to load the files.
Thanks for all the help.
Regards.

If it's a backup, you'll have to unzip the file. It should unzip to a folder containing two sub-folders (app and other) and a file named config.xml.
If the files are not in a folder you'll need to create a folder and move the sub-folders and file to it. When you run the Backup app, select Restore and choose that folder as the source for the Restore.
Thanks for the information mc, just wondering why it did not work, I follow your instructions, and I can see the files on the USB STICK, I click on it and opens it up and see the app folder and the other folder, I don't see the config.XML file, do you think maybe that is the problem? I can double click on the app or the other and than a message to select file but there is nothing to select
Please let me know.

After testing several different backup sets on two different A3's I discovered that sometimes copying and renaming the backup set results in the behavior you described, the .xml file not being recognized by the A3 even though it is in the folder. I suggest you try another download of the backup file, unzip it to your flash drive and see if you have better luck with it.
Hello Ernie
I try the second set of files and the same problem, I even try using a different stick and same thing, I try what you suggested and same thing, I will try the other option you suggested I will go back and read the NAND instructions and see if I can get it done, I have many receivers so I will take my time trying to fix this one.
I tank you all for your support.

Best idea is to make a full backup of the receiver now before you do anything else since you have the apps installed. That way, if there's a problem with the update you can go back to where you were.
I sure would appreciate a kind soul to send me a set of backup files. My A3 has been down for over a year. It reverted to europe and lost my backups so I shelved it. Would be nice to get it up and running again.
