Too bad... there goes some communication for those of us that live in more sparsely populated and mountainous areas... guess I can get a new phone now as my Moto (dual format) hasn't been able to surf the net in a year or so...

Yep verizon has called me about twice a month and sent me oodles of letters telling me to upgrade my old bag phone

Guess they'll cxl it for me. Already have a phone that works but when I travel to northern MN that 3 watt phone works great

and I carry my 8 year old uniden phone and a calling card in my kit bag I use when I go to the hilll's (full of Satellite stuff, level, Compass, batterys, camera, video cables, .22 shells and a loaded clip, hunting knives, whetrocks etc...

I know Motorola makes a CDMA and GSM version of 3 watt digital bag phone, but they are pricey since no one is subsidizing them.

yeah AT&T offers it. Its like 600 bucks
