I rally don't care all that much what E* is doing as long as I am happy with D*, and right now, I am very happy. I would someday like to have some of the Voom channels again, but other than that, I am good for now. But I do love how both sides compute their figures. I haven't figured out yet if I would or would not want their bean counters doing my taxes.

Now if I could just add 2-3 more hours in a day, I would be able to watch all of my new favorite programming that is available in stunning MPEG4 HD.

They did internal testing, of course. And they only compared their DVR against another one of their DVR's. It was a no-brainer.

IMHO - DirecTV has always had the better quality HD - I never considered giving up the MLB HD, or the NFL HD, or YES-HD and SNY-HD for VOOM. Now they have BOTH quantity AND quality.
