Animal Planet coming to Preferred Choice

On February 10th, Animal Planet and Animal Planet HD will be added to the PREFERRED CHOICE™ channel lineup.

If you have it now DIRECTV will probably let you keep it, grandfathered in until you call to make programming package changes.

Is that the el cheapo package they have for $30? Dish Network has it in their 200 package.

It is one of the International packages. They are adding this channel to the higher package. Animal planet was formally not available in the international packages. This has nothing to do with any of the standard English packages

Preffered Choice is a basic cable package around 80 channels that provides a little bit of american tv for customer who subscribe to internationals.

I suspect there will be even more changes ahead once the new D12 satellite is activated....more "repacking" of the HD channels.
