Using manual scan I'm able to get G25 with strong "Quality" signals (high 90s) on multiple TPs everything seems to work fine BUT... Why do I not get a "Quality" setting (it just stays red like there is no Sat. signal) when I then go the the "Dish setting" page? Nothing changed I just backed out of "Manual" and went to "Dish setting". Shouldn't the bars behave just like manual scan?
I'm using a single Universal LNB with no motor and freshly loaded CS factory software from their site.

no...sadly the box isn't that smart. It selects the 1st transponder in the list and if that is dead then it will show red

If you have a factory fresh setup and haven't changed the transponder list, the 1st one use to be for Bob Jones Univeresity (11749) but they moved to 105 I think now.

Best thing to do is to have an active TP as number 1. To delete the bad one, go into manual scan, select the TP and hit yellow button to delete it

Thanks for the reply, I deleted until I had a green TP, now the "dish setting" bar works.
So I guess I need a channel list I can load into the receiver.
Are there receivers that have a "satellite finder" mode where they do a broadbanded scan for signals without first having to know a good TP? Or do I have to invest in a plug-in unit to get that sort of feature?
