Not to get political (not my intention) but I can't believe New York and California have tax exemptions on anything!

True. My current state, Missouri, doesn't have these taxes but they do have personal property tax on vehicles. In Ohio where I grew up, they don't have personal property tax on vehicles but they have taxes on video services.

Well, the Democratic state of Oregon or Washington state (can't remember which, but I know it's on the west coast), doesn't have an income tax. Other Democratic states have certain exemptions. I live in Minnesota and I know we have exemptions. It's just New York state and California that surprise me. I also should note that even a Republican state like Texas has high property taxes. I'm not saying that doesn't happen.

I guess it doesn't hurt to ask. But you still get the same look like the Snap On guy gives you when you ask for a deal.
