Any purchase pricing for the Hopper 3?

"I'm fat... I'd sugar coat it but I'd probably eat that too".....you crack me up....that's probably the quote of 2016 so far lol

Because I have an RV, my investment in other equipment to have Dish receivers far exceeds the price of the receivers. It approaches $2000. So I committed to Dish with or without a contract. Why I would buy receivers when I get them for free from Dish and they can be rotated when tech turns come around?

There hasn't been a logical reason to buy receivers, outside of Pay-As-You-Go, since the lease fees went away.

Ha. My girlfriend and I come across that and it just stuck. Love that quote.

Hey, I didn't say I don't believe you , but in my situation I think I have more leverage with them because I am not in contract and I have been a good paying customer for 3 accounts for 19 years. I think everyone's personal situation is different and as such they should all try to get the best deal they can. That is why I own my receivers and it has worked for me since the beginning with DISH. If you don't remember that was how you got DISH back in the day. You paid for the first year's programming and the receivers and you owned them. Now in your personal situation it is different and that is good as well.

Plain and simple, I purchase because I don't like contracts. A company needs to earn my business to keep it, If I don't like their service, I'm not going to pay them an ETF to leave. I'll leave, sell the equipment and move on. In addition, stuff happens in life. I spent years paying things off other than my main house and want to be able to drop a service, if needed without having an ETF adding to any burden that might suddenly appear.

Just the way I am and the way I run my own business.

Dish knows people like you & I are becoming the majority that's why they introduced Sling TV & the $49.99 Price Lock promo. I cut the cord & did Sling TV, which continues to be an overwhelming success for Dish. Definitely not a Dish substitute for those who want the bells & whistle but good enough for those looking to cut cost of TV without doing so cold turkey.

There's talk in another thread of Dish coming out with an exceptional deal with the Hopper 3 come next Tuesday, anyone hear any of any leaks on this? With Dish on top of the trends in the market they could blow this market wide open (tmobile style) with killer promos involving Hopper 3 packages of 200 or more channels with bills of $50 to $60 per month after all fees. In other words, Price Lock with Hopper 3.

UPDATE:

Mark at DISHDEPOT.com responded to my email today and said he thought the hopper 3 would run at $399.99 and would be available by the end of the month around the 28th and that he would know for sure after the retailer chat tomorrow.

The problem is after the two years or when the promo ends. Can they get the majority to stay after their promo ends by having superior hardware? They want to have the hook with the good deal to get people on board.

Dishdepot.com has the Hopper 3 listed at $279

https://dishdepot.com/product/hopper-3-receiver-and-remote/

And the 4K Joey for $149.99

https://dishdepot.com/product/dish-4k-joey-receiver-and-remote/

No trade-in info provided
It says the Joey 1 won't work with the Hopper 3,
Well okay since we sill haven't figured out what determines the difference between joeys besides date of manufacture( which unless you kept the box you'll never know ) How would Dish Depot know if you have the right equipment?

So for argument sake
I would need to buy 5 joeys and a Hopper 3 an LNB and splitter.

So Hopper 3 $280
1 4K joey $150
4 Joey 2.0. $396
Hybrid LNB $50
DUO splitter $16
2 4 way splitters $16
Plus 6 % sales tax
Total $915

Yeah I think I'll pass

You won't pay the 6% PA sales tax if you order from Dishdepot.com

Mark has always given me a good trade-in value on my old receivers.

I don't think Dish will allow me to trade in their equipment.

I can't get over how badly people don't want to renew a contract. It's only 2 years or you pay a small ETF. Why even consider paying anything when most likely you would get everything you listed for free in an upgrade.

I would rather have the New Truck tires, or better yet, 5 months of my current Dish bill paid in full.
