Seems like a gold mine out there, especially with all the coffee/cafe houses becomeing so popular, along with every other potential commercial hotspot.

So, if doing it, who is the best equipment/service provider to deal with?

Thanks
..still yearning to learning! :)

I have a Linksys WRT54G in my house and it is pretty good, has alright encryption, NAT firewall and allows VPN passthrough. Something that is being used for a business, I myself would go with 3Com, they have a very good enterprise products but you will pay for it.

I use the Linksys WRT54G router with upgraded open source firmware like dd-wrt. The firmware gives these things so many more functions than using the factory stuff. Because you can kill them pretty easily, I would recommend you only flash the router if you really know what you are doing.

I have some install work yet to do on my D-Link in the truck. I have Linksys gear at home.
