Anything New Out There?

I have not touched my KU Motorized dish in over 2-3 years, I have a 39 inch dish set up perfectly on the arc,

With everything that is going on in the world, and the bordem of sitting at home all day, I thought about getting back into FTA,

And hooking up my receiver again,

I have a linkbox9000,

just wondering,

Is there anything more out there then when I "retired" this receiver and dish 2-3 years back?

mainly looking for english feeds,

has anything changed?....or pretty much the same channels?

Can your receiver receive DVB-S2? If not, you need a newer receiver.

Added: A quick check indicates it does receive DVB-S2. On Ku, focus on 87W, maybe 91W, a couple tps on 97W, 99W and 103W. Then monitor the 'What's Up There' section on this site.

in a nutshell... yes and no... No drastic changes in 2-3 years. you can now get CGTN News in HD on 103W on the same TP as NHK and RT (new frequency so you'll need to do a blind scan)
a few changes on 97W with more channels moving to HD (mostly middle-eastern channels). Also BVN is now on 97W. The non-CGTN chinese channels on 95W are gone.

65W and 34.5 W now have a few channels ITC in lower Ku (need a universal LNBF), with footprints that might cover only small parts of Canada, if at all.

thanks for the replies,

are Russia Today and NHK World HD still available on KU?

im really looking for english news channels, which are probably very few,

I watch them regularly, especially lately. On 97W and 103W respectively.

Added: LPB on 87W has BBC and PBS news every night.

thanks,

i got my receiver out today and hooked it up, after all these years the motor and everything still works perfectly fine,

i set up 97w first and scanned, then i set up and scanned 103w

im getting a lot of HD on 103w including NHK, but on 97w RT is only in SD 480i

i recall getting this in HD before, is RT now SD only??
