Assembled a Ku Dish Yesterday

Had two of these beauties stashed under the trailer for 15 years. Found enough of the hardware to assemble one dish. Had to do some Dremil work to get a generic LNBF mount to fit. No idea what the focal length of the dish is supposed to be. Whatever, was able to scan in 286 channels on G-19. Quality level is in the 70's. Installed a x4 DiSEqC switch and programmed it in. Everything on C and Ku is working fine. Love the GEOSATpro SL1PLL !!

Will add that looking at the feeds on G-19 is like short wave radio - with pictures!
Dr. Gene Scott is there! Reruns? Thought he was dead?

There are reruns of Gene Scott on his radio stations too.

Other times, you can find his widow preaching. She doesn't go off on fun tangents like Gene did though.

Photobucket. It always worked fine until today. I can see the pictures in preview mode but they don't post.

There are reruns of Gene Scott on his radio stations too.

Other times, you can find his widow preaching. She doesn't go off on fun tangents like Gene did though.

I liked how Dr. Scott was so up front about the way he spent 'some' of the donated money on things like a private jet, horses and pretty women. Never really understood what the @!@## he was preaching - and those blackboards!

Quite a few years ago I remember we were “surfing” the channels and satellites looking for something to watch and we stumbled across this goof.
He was auctioning off some of his “art” works. I think he fancied himself an artist.
Anyway, he was lounging around in what looked like the patio of a Spanish Villa and there were easels set up all around in the garden. He was on a chaise lounger smoking a giant cigar and drinking martinis.
And there were probably a dozen young women in very immodest bikinis dancing around him (to music), some where dancing next to the easels and there was a “crawl” running across the screen with phone numbers to call and bid on the art. I was shocked that this guy was claiming to be a preacher but was doing something like that. When we surfed through the channels again about a half hour later that was still running.
I guess it was a taped loop..

Something wasn’t right about that guy. Not at all.

Thanks for pictures. Looks like you have great LOS for your dishes. Lots of trees up here in the Northland which sucks for satellite.
