AT&T and FOX Sports offer First Live College Basketball Game in 4K UHD on DIRECTV

WHAT: AT&T and Fox Sports are tipping off their collaboration to bring fans more live sports in 4K Ultra High Definition (UHD) with the broadcast of the California vs. Stanford basketball game on DIRECTV. The first live 4K production of NCAA men’s hoops will be this Friday, followed by Washington vs. UCLA on March 1 in 4K UHD.
Both games will be 4K UHD simulcasts of FS1.

As part of a broader distribution agreement, AT&T and Fox Networks Group announced late last year DIRECTV customers would have access to 4K UHD content from Fox's marquee sports properties. This includes MLB regular season and playoff games, top college football and basketball games and NASCAR races.

WHEN: California at Stanford, Feb. 17 (10 p.m. ET/7p.m. PT)
Washington at UCLA March 1 (10 p.m. ET/7p.m. PT)

WHERE: DIRECTV 4K channel 106

HOW: Requires a Genie HD DVR (model HR54 or later) and a DIRECTV 4K Ready TV, or a 4K TV connected to a 4K Genie Mini. (Additional & Advanced Receiver fees apply.) Subscription to ENTERTAINMENT Package or other package containing FS1; 4K account authorization and professional installation required. Visit directv.com/4K for details.

I don't have 4K (yet), but will be keeping a keen eye on how FOX does with this.

Really too bad at least a piece of the NCAA tournament won't be in 4K. That would be a game-changer in my house.
