I have Dish network service for now, can I add the Dish anywhere app to the C71KW-400 streaming device? If the Anywhere app can be added to the C71KW-400 I can save rental fees for a Joey I am thinking of changing service to Directv Stream when my contract is over, then use it

Dish Anywhere is available via Google Play so you should be able to add it to the C71.

I actually tried to do this a couple of years ago and you can't do it through the Google Play store. I don't have a DISH account anymore so I can't try it now.

One more Question. If I can install Dish Anywhere on the C71KW-400 will I be able to use the remote to change channels like I do with the Joey now ? Or will I still need to use their built in channel key pad?

I checked the Play store on my Gemini and the Dish Anywhere app is in the Play store so yes you can install it. I am doubtful the channel numbers on the Gemini remote will work for the channel numbers on the app.

Well I subscribed to Directv My Free service bought a Pre-Owned AT&T TV FHD OTT C71KW-400 Client Streaming Box, come to find out can not use it without a paid service.
MY sister has Directv streaming account, is it possible to share her service with me without any problems with Directv ?

That is stealing.

Hopefully they have location set up to prevent such actions.

About your question, DIRECTV STREAM customers can stream at the same time any amount of compatible devices on their in-home network. Also, enjoy up to 3 streams simultaneously on a mobile or streaming device away from their home network. Only two out-of-home streams can be on compatible devices connected to a TV. Also, customers can enjoy the MSG network and stream it On-the-go on two devices connected to a TV. Laura, DIRECTV Community Specialist.

Not two separate homes.

and this https://www.directv.com/support/article/000079946 it can be done legally.

Question on Reddit:

Can I share accounts?

I currently have YouTubeTV but really want Bally Sports.

I share the YouTube tv account with my brother and my parents. I live in one town and they live 2 1/2 hours away.

Though we have to sign in uniquely occasionally, we found a way to make it work.

Just wondering if I could do the same with Directv Stream.

DIRECTV rep:

Yes, you can. A maximum of 3 streaming devices can access to your service, even if they are out of home your home network. Learn more about stream limits, clicking here.

Just keep in mind that up to two of them can be compatible streaming devices connected to a TV.

Also, DIRECTV STREAM comes with a device that will give you a cable-like experience.

In other words, DIRECTV STREAM will definitely work for you and your family!

With all the streaming services stopping password sharing, adding paying subscribers because of it, I am amazed DirecTV, who has lost about 14 Million subscribers, would be ok with it.

Makes no business sense.

I was pretty surprised with that answer but I have seen from multiple DIRECTV Community Specialists. Or it could be that DIRECTV is not ok with it and their low pay DIRECTV Community Specialist is like their phone CSR's that don't have a clue about anything.
