Random question, but why is the Coke Zero 400 on the Sports HD Alternate channel? It is currently on channel 414. But it is also on NBC. Is there something going on various NBC stations this evening that is causing a conflict? I don't ever recall a sports alternate channel being used for what is being shown on ABC, CBS, NBC, or FOX.

it's a moot point now that the race is over, but likely NBC Sports/USA Sports had to reach a deal with Dish for those in markets where a NBC station had local rights to a NFL team's final preseason game as this was the final week of the 3 weeks of preseason (4 weeks in the case of the 2 teams that played the Pro Football Hall of Fame game the week before preseason week 1).

Thanks - I found it strange to see something on my local NBC station that was also available on an alternate channel. I don't ever recall seeing that before.

One more thing - I see that right now Soccer is on the alternate sports channels - with the USA Sports branding. It's the English version of what is on Universo. Doing a search online, this soccer game, SC Freiburg vs Werder Bremen, is streaming on ESPN+ and Peacock Premium.

Interesting that 2nd day in a row a USA Sports game is being shown on an Alternate sports channel.

Nope. There was only one game last night and no NBCs had the game so that wasn't necessary
