ATSC tuner in Satellite Receiver

to kinda drudge up this thread on my 811....I guess its working now for some weird reason

Hooked up the receiver to the OTA and tried to find a satellite feed around here. Settled on of all sats 121 (yeah I know......but my DBS stuff has a 22k setup on the 4x4)...

anywho....let it do a swicth test and download. Got a couple business channels all of which say "you need a new smartcard"...software 428

scanned OTA and got the channels. Then scrolled through the channels and got to the av inputs (00-1 & 00-2) then channel up and voila
2-1 my local PBS

I checked all locals and they seem to be working now. Sat channels get "need new smart card"

so apparently 428 will still work on OTA

That 'dark age' mode holding pretty well - no new card required, no FW updating, getting all OTA with full guide (!) and the best FW version is P4.23.

Doesn't the Viewsat 9000HD have an OTA (ATSC) tuner?
