Auto tune is a single event that awakened the receiver if it is in standby and tunes the requested channel, not a recording event.

All it does is change a tuner to the designated channel, if that is your intent, yes.

If you wish to record CNN 12 to 6, you can create a manual timer to do it, another timer for Fox from 6 to 12.
