AZBOX HD ELITE or PREMIUM

The premium has WIFI built in and also has space for a hard drive inside the unit.

Thats the only diffrences I know about.

I see in one ad that the Premium only has b/g networking. Is this right? I know that you can do HD over a g network under ideal conditions, but why wouldn't you go with n to give you more to work with?

802.11n is still in draft stages, and as such, has not been widely implemented.

Wait a year, and most everything will be 802.11n capable.

I have to disagree with the assertion that it hasn't been widely implemented. I think you can get draft-n equipment from just about any manufacturer.

WiFi is a nice feature, but might not be designed in this case for streaming HD over LAN or playing back on a TV Set streamed HD content, as there are other reasons to have the receiver connected to the web. And for other reasons 802.11b/g is sufficient. But it looks like they will keep adding features to it.

I believe that is under the "Optional" comment
And also "not yet available" :)

Would be nice though.
You are still amazing me - absolutly do not willing to read there ;).

No, it is not under "Optional" - there is only one "TV Out (OPTIONAL)", but other features under "Rear I/O".

[Same on you :D]

The "RF TV Out" is not the optional part, both models have it, it's analog, not ATSC or DVB-T.
I believe what follows the "(OPTIONAL)" is a list of optional tuners.
I do not see anyone actually selling a Premuim, listing DVB-T or ATSC as included.
Sellers I have asked, said it will only be, and not yet, available as an add-on card.

What is the difference between the azbox hd elite and premium?????????

information is absolutely correct, both receivers come with a dvb-s2 tuner embedded, room for a second tuner is there

optional plug&play tuners are DVB-T (now available in Europe), DVB-C (now available in Europe), DVB-S2 (not available yet)

ATSC and ISDB-T (Brazilian format) will also be available on american market

doesn't look right

"Flash Memory:
Elite:16 MB
Premium: 32 MB"

Where this came from ? ! I would accept this if you'll post a pictures of AZ board with the models of the chips.

As AZ site listed in Specification: both models had same NOR flash size 8 MB.
