I will be getting my install on the 6th. Can i go into my online acct and change my package after the installer leaves. i remember the ATT days and i hate to call em LOL
When logged into my account I can change the package. Not sure if a new customer can that has a 2 year contract though. Seems like you should be able to but I don't know if DIRECTV has some rule that you can't change it.I will be getting my install on the 6th. you can only switch packages with in the first 30 days now after that you can't any longer.. and with the new hardware configs wireless only Gemini's i said no thank you..When logged into my account I can change the package. I've been with them since 1994 and I can change the package anytime I want. Also the Gemini can be wired or wireless. I have 2 of them both wired.you can only switch packages with in the first 30 days now after that you can't any longer.. and with the new hardware configs wireless only Gemini's i said no thank you..
there not doing the wired ones any longer. i would be a new customer i only have 30 days to change my package after that i can't change it. screw that.I've been with them since 1994 and I can change the package anytime I want. Also the Gemini can be wired or wireless. I have 2 of them both wired.
So, are you Cancelling when they get there ?they bumped my install up to tomorrow![]()
As I said before you can change your package at any time. Unless there is some kind of rule that new customers cannot make a change after 30 days. Here is a screen shot of where I can change my programming package. All I have to do is click the "Switch" button.there not doing the wired ones any longer. i would be a new customer i only have 30 days to change my package after that i can't change it. screw that.
I can see if they are trying to go Wireless only ... not sure if thats the case.As I said before you can change your package at any time. Not sure why they would tell you that you can't get a wired Gemini unless with new installs they won't run new coax. It sounds like you had DIRECTV satellite before. If there is already coax where the Gemini would go all you would need would be the Gemini supplied with the DECA. I just installed my 2nd Gemini a couple of months ago and they supplied it with the DECA and I hooked it up wired and it works fine. It sounds like the CSR you are talking to has no idea what they are talking about. Talk to the installer about it when he arrives.
Yeah that is why I said "unless with new installs they won't run new coax". But what if someone wanted a C61K? There is no wireless option available for it...unless they no longer offer any wired clients which seems hard to believe.I can see if they are trying to go Wireless only ... not sure if thats the case.
Its much quicker for the installer, but it's not really "Right", you should have your option if its avaialable.
the sat versionAre you installing DirecTV satellite or DirecTV over Internet? The Gemini devices are different.
Good point ... I know I would want a C61KYeah that is why I said "unless with new installs they won't run new coax". But what if someone wanted a C61K? There is no wireless option available for it...unless they no longer offer any wired clients which seems hard to believe.
They will run coax for new installs. On what mini you get who knows they won't tell you. Also the genie 2 only has the wireless Gemini now I tried like hell to get the wired ones. Was not possible!!! Oh and there's a fee to activate the wireless Gemini from what the installer told me.Good point ... I know I would want a C61K
Could have been a mix up in communication.
This must be a rule for new subs. Before you could change your package at anytime now they hold you to itAs I said before you can change your package at any time. I would have taken the HR54 in a Heart BeatThey will run coax for new installs. On what mini you get who knows they won't tell you. I beat him to the punch line and just I wasn't interested in a hr-54 for 3 tvs. He was cool and 3 hours early Also kudos to him!!!
They clearly lied to you. All Gemini's for the satellite service are identical. They can all either be wired or wireless. The only difference to install one as wired needs 1) coax at the location where you want the Gemini and 2) a DIRECTV DECA (which is a coax to Ethernet adapter). The coax connects to the DECA and then you connect an Ethernet cable from the DECA to the Gemini Ethernet port. Also the genie 2 only has the wireless Gemini now I tried like hell to get the wired ones.
Log into your DIRECTV account and click the link for "TV Package" and see if you have the "switch" option for the other packages that you do not subscribe too. I think you will…now and more than 30 days later. This must be a rule for new subs. Before you could change your package at anytime now they hold you to it
